Hubby & I need to desperately lose weight...but...later

Never wrote a blog before but I'll give it a shot.

I've been a size 10 most of my young adult life.  But in my later years, hubby & I have been on a weight roller coaster.  Myself, I've seen a size 4 but now it's more like a 16!  My Hubby has seen a large (muscle not fat) but now is a 2x pushing a 3x, but not muscle...get my drift?

Hence, I landed on this website looking for "Healthy" eats.  I'd been a member years ago but fell of the wagon.

The thing is actually using the recipes.  I find it easier to throw a frozen meal in the oven or make a native (fatty) meal both hubby & I crave.

So, my Mom who is 88yrs old and has Alzheimer's and a host of ailments lives with us.  Because of this our home has family coming in from out-of-town during good weather.  Winter month's are cold in Massachusetts so we're able to enjoy an empty house.  Trying to eat healthy with family that love's my "Spanish" cooking is an impossible task.  So it looks like we're going to have to wait a bit or somehow try to eat right in spite of feeding the company our fav's.

I'll try to keep up with this blog...maybe it will make me accountable for what we eat!

I lost 35 lbs in 4 months I would love to help you do the same. The program I can offer is very easy and the weight comes off fast. I too am looking for low carb/fat/cal recipes.

My mom and dad lost 10 to 15 pound each in two weeks doing the 17 day diet. They loved it so much, that months later, they've continued to alternate through the cycles. It's pretty amazing and you will never be hungry!

By "native" do you mean Native American? I've eaten a lot of native food in my time and very little of it could be considered really fatty. Fried bread tacos may be the downfall of us all, though!

I can totally relate. I've also seen a size 4 many moons ago and my hubby is also pushing a 2x. Needless to say we need to lose weight. I do cook healthy. We really need to start exercising. Make sure you start soon on watching what you eat. You don't want it affecting your health. It's also not as time consuming as you think to cook healthy. Or maybe you can dedicate one day out of the day to cook healthy freezable meals and the rest of the week will be a cinch. Good luck!

Trixie, just a suggestion, but at the top of this page is theBuzz. Click on that feature and it will take you to a wonderful community of folks who love to cook healthy, and are there with suggestions or to answer questions, all day and night long. I have learned more there in the past year about food and cooking and baking than I have learned in the previous 60 years of my life! Do try it..... and good luck!
