Lemon Chicken III

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
This is the best lemon chicken I have ever had. However, I've tried marinating it for only a few hours and overnight, and I think it tastes better if it marinates a few hours. I've also found that this dish freezes well. Also, a funny story about making this.. one time I decided to add extra paprika and gave a few extra shakes of it into the flour mixture. After cooking it and tasting it I realized I'd grabbed CAYENNE PEPPER by mistake. Not good with lemon and brown sugar!

Cinnamon Pie

Very tasty. Just made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. Smelled heavenly while baking. I also tried it with the buttery crunch crust and that was a great combination. This recipe is a keeper!

Buttery Crunch Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
Yummy, this crust was good. Ironically though, I am not a fan of most nuts so I substituted with Grape Nuts cereal and that worked very well. Very easy to prepare. This is also excellent with cheesecake. Great variation from boring old graham crackers!!

Better Than Best Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2002
This is one of the best recipes for fried chicken I have found. However, it is very messy to make it (the egg and cream of chicken soup mixture got all over the place). Also, it's hard to tell when it's ready to be fried-"doughy" is a vague description. Overall though, if you like fried chicken, try this!

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2003
After reading all of the positive reviews this dish received, I could not wait to try it. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. The chicken was the most tender I have ever tasted but the flavor was lacking. It was very bland.I will try this again (after all 300+ positive reviews show I must have done something wrong) but, in the words of Emeril, I will spice things up a bit!

Very good! I made this for a bridal shower and it was a big hit. This is an ideal punch recipe!

Baked Cheese Olives

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2003
These are quick to make and very tasty, but the recipe does need some work. First, you must add more butter, I've made these several times and always end up adding two additional tablespoons of butter. I also melt it, to make mixing easier. Also tasty with a shot of worcestershire sauce.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Very good, but very rich. You'll only need a few bites to feel full. Is a meal in itself!

Fabulous Hot Five Bean Salad

Very tasty! I think it also tastes better after it chills a day, the flavors blend more. Also good cold.

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
Wow! I took the advice of other reviewers and decreased the flour to 1.5 cups, and added a splash of vanilla, and this turned out perfect. I also added extra cinnamon.Anybody who likes blueberries should try this!

Quickie French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2003
This recipe was ok. It was extemely salty. Also, preparing the garlic was a bit of a pain. If you are looking to make a better "quickie" french onion soup, combine a can of condensed french onion soup mix undiluted with a packet of dry onion soup/dip mix and add water and/or beef or chicken broth.

Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2003
After reading all of the positive reviews this got, I made it for my fiancees birthday dinner. We were disappointed! This sounds so good but the cut of meat is the wrong cut to use. It just didn't taste like anything even slightly special. I have had much better luck buttering filet mignon in the last minute of cooking and adding a dash of parsley or chives. Much better than this!!

Cocktail Meatballs II

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2003
The sauce is good, but next time I wouldn't bother to make the meatballs, I'd just use ones from the store as well.

French Toast Waffles

These deserve five stars just on simplicity alone. These took about five minutes to prepare and cook! They also tasted great. I will definitely make these again!

Deep Fried Dill Pickles

Reviewed: May 4, 2003
I tried one, couldn't get anyone else to eat them and had to throw the rest away. I'm sorry, but I will never make these again. The breading was extremely salty. I do like fried pickles, but this particular recipe is not a good one to use.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: May 5, 2003
This was good and simple to make. Thanks to others reviews, I pounded the chicken and it was so tender! Also doubled the amount of garlic. Also needed some salt. But, in terms of simplicity and taste, this is a keeper!

Kelsey's Cheesy Bacon Breasts

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
Just made this for dinner and it was very good. It was simple to prepare and easy to clean up after. The recipe was a bit confusing because it called for vegetable oil and butter, I chose neither and used olive oil. I also pounded the chicken breasts thin, therefore they were extra tender. The chicken was very tasty, the only complaint I have is that the cheese made it very oily! Next time I will cut the cheese in half. There will still be more than enough!

Easy and absolutely delicious! My kind of recipe. I did boil the sugar and water for a minute or two to ensure the sugar was dissolved.

This is great! I like to make it using cornbread twist dough instead of crescent roll dough. My fiancee always asks for this. Quick, easy, and tasty!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2003
Thanks to other reviewers suggestions I too added a dash of salt, some baking powder and extra vanilla. I also chilled the dough for 2 hours. These cookies are good, very good, but they are not the best I've ever had. Honestly, to me they taste just like the recipe off the chocolate chip bag, with the addition of the pudding to make them soft. I don't think the pudding adds additional flavor, it just makes them cakey.
