Maple Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
Moist and wonderful turkey, and the left over maple herb butter isn't at all necessary for exquisite gravy. This has now been THE Thanksgiving turkey on BOTH sides of my family for 3 years and counting...

Gooey Cherry Bars

These are definitely a keeper, you can taste everything and nothing overpowers anything else.

Rainbow Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2004
These were VERY labor intensive. The jam and the chocolate on top prevents you from tasting any of the almond or anything else for that matter. All I could suggest would be to use only one layer of jam (either flavor) and drizzle the chocolate lightly on top instead of pouring all of it on.

Cavatini I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2004
This was a HUGE hit! I used Ragu Green Peppers and Onion sauce, turkey pepparoni, cooking spray instead of butter, and reduced fat cheese and my meat and potatoes husband was none the wiser. We have to sneak the healthy things in when we can, girls!

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2004
The frosting TOTALLY overpowered everything. I suggest drizzling the frosting lightly and only using the graham crackers on the bottom so that you can taste the pudding. Otherwise it's more of a "s'mores" dessert rather than an eclair dessert. Also, it was VERY rich...again because of the frosting.

Chicken Tetrazzini for a Crowd

I thought it was great, could have used a few more noodles. Husband thought is was "okay" hence the 4 stars.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2004
Awesome! I did a coke instead of a beer with a little hesitation, but it was great! Next time I will do the beef consume for a little stronger flavor.

Angel Chicken Pasta

This was SO good! I usually have a really hard time getting juicy chicken breasts out of a recipe, but you could cut these with your fork and the taste was TDF! (to die for)

Lemon Delight

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2004
Since I had to use a 9x13 I added extra pecans to the crust. There was no need, the crust was really thick for the most part. Next time I will double the cream cheese/sugar mixture as it was really good and got overpowered by everything else. I will also try with different flavor pie fillings: strawberry, or cherry.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2004
Added 12/17/07: I have been making these for about 4 or 5 years and I have to say that I'm not too thrilled with them this year...they were too puffy and cakey and not chewy enough. I can only conclude that I did't pull them out early enough...? I've made these a few times and they are perfect every time. Don't forget to squish 'em! I'm probably the only one who forgets to do it, but it IS necessary as they don't spread very much. I go exactly by the recipe and wouldn't change a thing.

Honey Garlic Ribs

Very tasty. Would work well in a slow cooker for tenderness. I poured out the sauce and thickened it with cornstarch, then poured it on top for more flavor. Yummy.

My husband says I'm allowed to keep this one and make it again. Translates to: "Wow! This is great!" Soooo easy too.

Party Size Potato Chip Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2004
I used the recipe scaler to cut the ingredients in half so that it made one 9x13 pan full. The combination of Mayo, cheese, and potato chips made this a greasy heart stopper that the taste just didn't make worth it.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2004
My husband LOVED these. After baking, I poured the sauce into a saucepan and thickened with cornstarch, then poured it on top of the wings. I wasn't sure what "chili sauce" they wanted me to use, but I used Tobasco sauce and it was PERFECT! It gave them just enough kick without being too hot.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2004
The crunchy stuff was excellent, but the sauce was horrible...maybe it is because I used Tobasco instead of Red Hot or something.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2004
This was my first attempt EVER at homemade bread. I wasn't sure why the yeast wouldn't "melt" and ended up throwing away two packages of it. I figured out that it wouldn't "melt" in the sugar, so I melted it first in the water, then added the sugar. I wasn't sure what a "creamy foam" was supposed to look like, so I just waited for about 5 minutes before continuing and I made the most beautiful loaves!!

Pumpkin Pie Bars by EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2004
This was WONDERFUL! The crust actually turned into sort of a crunchy, praline texture (I use a glass pan). We put a dollop of French Vanilla Cool Whip on it while it was warm and it was better than any pumpkin pie I've ever had. I also didn't have any allspice, so I just substituted 1/2 tsp. of pumpkin pie spice.
