About this Cook
Raised by an excellent Mom who was a GREAT cook! Learned all the basics from her, then developed a major interest in it in my 40's. I don't have enough patience for some of the more intricate recipes out there, but I sure love trying new things!
My favorite things to cook
Crockpot recipes; chicken any way, ribs, pork shoulder, tacos, salads of any kind...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pure, down-home comfort food from my Mom who was raised on a ranch on the Sacramento River.
My cooking triumphs
A beautiful trifle I attempted and actually succeeded at.
My cooking tragedies
A miserable attempt at making Chile Relleno from scratch and turned my kitchen into a disaster zone and had nothing left to eat after the destruction was over!!

Easter Brunch Casserole
I made this for Easter Sunday Brunch and it was delicious! I added more eggs with some milk also, as it didn't seem like enough liquid for the amount of potato/bacon/onion mixture I had made. Served with a nice fruit salad, it was delightful.

Jalapeno Popper Spread
This is fabulous and oh so easy! I had other appetizers on my table last weekend, and this went first, hands down! Thanks so much.

Garlic and Cheese Bruschetta
This sounded delicious, but I didn't have sour cream, parsley, or green onion on hand, so I substituted a little extra mayo for the sour cream, regular onion for the green, and left out the parsley. I also didn't have swiss cheese, just a mild cheddar blend, but this turned out delicious. I think my husband ate half the loaf!! The fresh ground black pepper on top at the end really gave it a nice zing. Will definitely make again.
