Eggless Crepes

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Thank you for sharing this recipe! We were out of eggs, so I was happy to stumble on this and still be able to make my crepes. I thought these held together just fine, and the texture and flavor were good!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
Better than a cinnabon, in my family's opinion. I doubled the frosting recipe, as others suggested.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2008
Delicious! This soup can be tailored to suit your tastes. We ommitted the broccoli, added frozen spinach and a little red curry paste to give it a bit of a thai flare. I'll definitely make this again!

Soft Breadsticks

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
Though these are more biscuit-y than breadlike, my family loved them, and they were very simple to make. I did add the cheese and garlic salt and omitted the sesame seeds, as suggested. Since the ingredients are things I always have on hand, I'll make them again.

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
I couldn't believe how good this turned out. The ingredients were so nutritious and healthy, I didn't even worry about the sour cream and cheese I topped it with.

Old Plantation Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2007
These rolls were very bland, and despite the sugar and yeast, didn't taste of either. I'll stick with my own recipe next time.

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2005
This pie crust is excellent, and has a rich buttery flavor, almost like a shortbread cookie. Despite other people's snottiness, I was out of shortening, and when I typed in "Butter Pie Crust" this was the ONLY recipe that fit the criteria, so thank you so much for sharing it!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2005
These turned out excellent. The only adjustment made was the bake time, which far exceeded the 14 minutes listed. I omitted the raisins and created a lemon scone (my favorite) by adding a lemon glaze for the top, combining lemon juice, powdered sugar and corn starch. I'll be making these often!

Sponge Cake Tiramisu

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2005
This was better than I expected. I wound up substancially modifying the recipe, but it was fabulous anyway. I wanted the tiramisu to be edible for all my dinner guests, including a pregnant woman. I cut the angel food cake into strips to mock ladyfingers, then beat the cream, marscapone, vanilla and sugar until fluffy. I added a fourth cup of strongly brewed decaf coffee to the marscapone mixture, and whipped it again. I then alternated layers of angelfood fingers, the marscapone mixture, and cinnamon sprinklings, topping it off with the last of the marscapone mix and cinnamon. I chilled for about an hour. This was a huge hit and I will definitely make it again!

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
I have made two batches of these brownies, the second time i only had two eggs on hand, and they turned out much more moist, less cakelike, which was more to my liking. Either way, these are the best brownies I've ever made.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2004
I first tried this recipe a few years back, and thought it was a nice change of pace from usual vegetarian fare. Since then, the beans from this recipe have become a staple in our diet. I serve them with regular burritos, over rice with cheese, onions, salsa and sour cream, as an accompaniment for fajitas, and also as a base for homemade chili. Any combination of light or dark kidney beans or black beans can be used. I always get raves.

Company Chicken Pasta Salad with Grapes

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2002
This is the best pasta salad I've ever made! Who would have thought grapes would work so well! I didn't have the Rice Vinegar it called for, so I substituted a mixture of white vinegar soy sauce and cooking wine, and it was still delicious.
