No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2013
My people loved it! But I made it with 1/2 the cool whip, one pie pan. Delicious, rich, great flavor.

Rhubarb-Raspberry Crunch

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2013
I read all the reviews ... doubled the berries ... turned out runny ... and 45 minutes left the rhubarb a bit too crunchy to our taste. But nice flavor! I'd try it again.

Summer Squash Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2013
Have made this several times now with several combinations of white/brown sugar and stevia. Sometimes its super moist, sometimes drier, but it's always a hit.

Fresh Pear Pie

Incredible! I may have put in a touch more lemon zest & juice than called for but it tastes great and makes for an attractive slice.

Delish! Made it with blueberries & fresh blackberries. Could have tossed in more fruit.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2013
Have made this twice now and it turns out GREAT! Though it makes a TON of batter, seriously, whoa. I left the walnuts out intentionally the first time and accidentally the second time but even so, super moist with great flavor. FYI it will need to bake longer than an hour depending on the pan, so plan accordingly. Last night a loaf pan took 1hr15 and a bundt pan took 1hr20. This one's a winner!

Smoked Paprika Goulash for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
Cooked 8 hours. Added fresh rosemary, thyme and savory at the finish. Needed salt. Will cut my meat into smaller bits and add some additional spice at the beginning next time, but beautiful color and consistency this round :)

This was a DELICIOUS pie with apples picked off the tree in the front yard, but came out rather runny :/

Mom's Pie Crust

First pie crust I've ever made. Super easy to follow, easy to roll, made well more than one pie plate & cover.

Rhubarb Pork Chop Bake

Reviewed: May 4, 2012
Awesome. I cooked four chops, two "normal" and two smoked. All were tasty but the smoked were definitely better. Delicious dish!

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: May 4, 2012
Wow. Just made one of these this evening. Subbed 1/2 Splenda and 1/2 honey for the sugar, glazed the top with milk & sugar and covered the edges with foil until the end. I cooked it an extra 5 minutes to make sure it was done...amazing.

Solid. Made it with the cornstarch as so many had suggested and a bit more honey as well. Looks great, tastes great. Huge hit.

Peppered Elk Skillet

This may reflect the talent of the chef ;) but we weren't so keen on this one. Threw in the veggies I had on hand ... it just sort of all went wrong ... I'll spare you the details!

Rhubarb Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
I used nearly double the rhubarb in the recipe, butter in lieu of shortening and two mini bundt pans instead of 8x8s (baking in someone else's kitchen!). Delicious! Huge hit.

Newport Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
Made this last week with clams caught by hand at Ninilchik, Alaska. Added half a pound of bacon to the recipe but otherwise followed it to the letter. Absolutely fabulous! Total crowd pleaser. We killed a pot in a single sitting. Awesome recipe!

Sour Cream Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
I've been baking a lot of rhubarb this summer. Of the six dishes so far, this one lingered longest. However, we also discovered that the longer it sat, the better it tasted... The sour and the tart make for an interesting combination.

Berry Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
This is the fifth rhubarb dessert I've made in two weeks, and is easily the favorite recipe. I didn't bother with refrigerating overnight, used a Safeway pie crust, and like other reviewers stuffed in a little more fruit that the called for. Delicious!

Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
I feel like the ratio of topping to fruit is too high. This tastes more like oatmeal and butter than rhubarb.
