Carol's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2003
This is my first review of a recipe as all have been good - until now. The poultry seasoning was sooo overpowering and the swiss cheese didn't add a lot. I had to double the amt of mayo and add more pepper. Won't make again. Sorry!

Smothered Mexican Lasagna

Mmmmm, was this yummy!!! I used ground beef and rotel tomatoes with lime and cilantro. Hubby and I both loved it. It was even good the next day. Thanks for a great recipe, Brenda.

Wisconsin Bratwurst

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2003
These were wonderful! Lots of compliments from my guests. Now they're requested all the time! After boiling the brats and onions for 20 minutes, I remove from the pot and add strips of green and red peppers to the liquid and boil them until soft. Top the brats with the onion and peppers. Mmmm.

Sausage Cheese Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2003
There was no way the batter could be spread into a 9x13 pan, and in two layers too. There was barely enough for an 8x8 pan. Did I miss something here? It was also dry and tasteless. Sorry, but won't make again.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2003
I was digging this recipe out for Thanksgiving 2003 when I realized I didn't rate it from last year! What can I say that everyone else hasn't already said? IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! And being a native Michigander, I love the name of it too!

Egg Fried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2003
My husband loves fried rice so I thought I'd give this a try. I'm glad I did. It was delicious! I did use the 2 eggs as suggested and chicken broth. Next time, I think I'll cut back on the soy sauce a bit. It was a little salty. Thanks for a great recipe!

Grandma Ruth's Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2003
I thought this stuffing was wonderful! I did add in cooked sausage, used 1/2 the garlic, and 2 cans of chicken broth. It was flavorful and moist. My Thanksgiving guests loved it. Thanks!

Chocolate Hazelnut Mocha Cappuccino Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2003
Yup, this was a yummy recipe. I did the same as the others and used the white choco pudding and less milk. Everyone love it! Thanks.

Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2003
I didn't know what garlic herb flavored cheese spread was, so I substituted chive & onion cream cheese. It still came out great. Will make again.

Made these for a Christmas gathering. Used the frozen meatballs and cooked everything in the crockpot. All the guests loved them. And it was sooooo easy to make. Thanks!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2003
I was actually dubbed the "Pumpkin Pie Queen" after making this at Thanksgiving. I used pecans instead of walnuts (personal preference). I always thought my grandmother's pie was the best -not anymore! Thanks Cindy B.

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2004
We loved this pie. I didn't put all the cinnamon sugar mixture on it. It just seemed like too much. I also had to bake it for an additional 15 minutes before the center would set up, but that could have been my oven. Thanks for a great recipe!

Yummy! I doubled the recipe and threw in some chives. Really easy to make. All my guests thought it was great. Even the kids who are very picky eaters.

I took this to a potluck over the weekend. I received several compliments and requests for the recipe. I used a whole box of spinach and it was perfect. Thanks!

Marinated Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2004
I hate to be in the minority here, but I didn't like this at all and I'm not a picky eater. I took it to a potluck over the weekend. I didn't hear one compliment on it and there were 50 people there. I used cilantro instead of the parsley, but followed everything else as stated. Sorry!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2004
Our family loved this recipe. The sauce was incredible and you could cut the chicken with a fork. I did double the sauce portion, but I don't think it was necessary. We had a ton of sauce left. I also browned the chicken breasts first with some leftover bacon grease and added garlic. This one's a keeper!

Wilted Lettuce Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2004
We liked this salad. It had good flavor, but I didn't have enough sauce to thoroughly coat the lettuce. It would have been nice if the recipe mentioned how much bacon grease you would need. I'll probably try it again.

Sorry, we didn't care for this. I don't know if it was the canned chicken or what. Strange taste.
