About this Cook
I love to cook and try out new recipes. I lovingly call my family "my little guinea pigs". They don't seem to mind! I think I could spend hours on this site (and probably already do!).
My favorite things to cook
Main courses and appetizers are what I truly like to cook. I'm definitely not one who likes making desserts. Only when company is coming over.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't seem to have any cooking traditions. Mom wasn't much of a cook, so I guess I'll just start some now for my children.
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving dinner for 12 people and getting my 25 year old stepson to actually give me a compliment on a dish I made (prime rib).
My cooking tragedies
My Thanksgiving turkey last year. The stupid thing wouldn't cook! We finally had to cut it up and cook it that way. It got all dried out then. Got the oven serviced after that!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms
Brought these for a Labor Day party. They were awesome! I used the chive & onion flavored cream cheese, no onion powder and used 18 mushrooms. Could have probably even used 24. They were pretty overstuffed. Thanks!

Chocolate Butterfinger-Caramel Cake
Saw this recipe on Friday and knew it would be perfect for Father's Day. Didn't change a thing. It was awesome. Hubby and daughter had two pieces!

Quick and Easy Shrimp Scampi
OK, gang. I haven't left a review in a year or two, but had to on this one. I'd cut the pasta amount in half and either eliminate the bread crumbs all together or cut it down to a 1/4 or 1/3 cup. I also tried Panko instead of bread crumbs. They turned to a white mush. It was disgusting looking. There also was barely any sauce. What a waste of time and ingredients.
