Mississippi Tea Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
Our son made these for us the other day around 1 in the morning, just because he feels like it. It turned out they are so delicious that I had to eat 5 around 2 in the morning, which gave me acid reflux but totally worth it. Nostalgic taste, with very nice amount of sweetness. He added some crushed almonds in it and were perfect!!

Calico Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
I made this dish vegetarian by using Soyrizo only. Also sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top, and it was really delicious! Baked whole wheat tortilla and put the mixture and wrap it as you eat it, with sauteed spinach on the side.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2012
Excellent recipe! Since I'm vegetarian, I changed the recipe to omit bacon altogether, but it turned out to be pretty good without bacon. I added a little bit of Sriracha to the soup for a bit of kick, and it was delicious!

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
Wow, this was so easy and very tasty crust! I only needed half of the ingredients to make a perfect pie crust for one Pyrex pie dish! Two things I changed was to switch shortening to half canola oil, and half spreadable butter, and used 1 cup of white flour + 1 cup of whole wheat flour (remember I used only half the ingredients, which calls for only 2 cups of flour). I'll make this again!

Famous No Coffee Pumpkin Latte

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Great recipe, but I used coffee with half & half instead, plus little bit of nutmeg and cloves, and cooked it with cinnamon stick in the pan for a while to have more flavor. After pouring in a cup, I used whipped cream then sprinkle with cinnamon, plus chocolate syrup or caramel syrup, depending on preferences.

Beef Yakitori

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
Love the recipe but just wanted let you know that Yokitori in Japanese uses only chicken. Yaki means grill and tori means bird/chicken.
