Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Ok this is simple. I bought different kinds of cream cheese, a garlic and herb one, and onion and chive and a sante fe blend. I preferred the onion and chive blend. And I made plain cream cheese ones. Oh, I got smoked salmon, much better for this than regular bacon.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Ok, so I used a 4 oz can of chopped green chilies, chopped them finer. Then added a handful of fresh chilies, I like spice. I also topped it with the bread crumb and Parmesan cheese topping. I kept some of this mixture to the side and stuffed mushrooms with it. SO GOOD! I pulled out the stems to the mushrooms and sauteed them with a little red onion and mixed it with the cream cheese. I sauteed the whole mushrooms for a few minutes, then added the cheese mixture and baked in oven at 350 for five minutes. Delicious. Btw, this is my absolute favorite dip. I LOVED IT! I devoured it.

Smoked Salmon Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Ok, I followed the recipe EXACTLY...but I tweaked it in one way. I put 4 oz of smoked salmon, chopped, in the spread. Now, the spread needs all 12, so what I did to make this a more elegant presentation. I got a cucumber slice, topped it with a little smoked salmon, then topped that with the spread. It was pretty and divine and accomplished the same taste. Repeat, it needs all 12 oz or it isn't too flavorful. The recipe is DIVINE!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
Perfect foundation for pancakes. This is perfect alone, or if you want to make it more gourmet and add fruits. I took heed of other advice and did add 1/2 tsp of Vanilla, for the 8 serving mixture, but I should have added 1 tsp like others suggested. But I made a batch without the vanilla...its the perfect starting pancake recipe, there are no limits to personalizing this recipe. Perfect!! Thanks

Ratatouille

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
OH MY GOD! My first attempt ever at ratatouille and my entire family loved it. I was surprised we all loved it so much, now I can cook something with eggplant other than traditional dishes I commonly use it for. This was wonderful. I did only one tiny bit of change, I mixed fresh Parmesan and Mozzarella together that I seasoned with oregano. And that was it. This is WONDERFUL. I loved it so much.

Herbed Corn

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
This was to die for!! I loved it. I cooked it on the side to a mangolicious tilapia dish I found on this site. It seemed to carry the Caribbean theme. However I like it so much I think I will try this with BBQ. Its a definite keeper.

Mango-licious Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
WOW! The first bite I took of this all I thought of was that this would be perfect for CEVICHE. I do not like mango at all, however I have tried it on food and loved it so I followed this recipe EXACTLY. I made zero changes and it was to die for. The mango salad is what does it, its perfect, you can toss in some seafood that you marinate in lime for a few hours and have this ceviche, or you can eat this with chips. And of course you can use it like this recipe. Next time I want to try it with chips and ceviche, but I will absolutely always cook this dish. Perfect!

Aunt Wanda's Turkey Carcass Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
The way it is written will take a lot of effort for someone who doesnt know how to cook, but this is a good recipe, just needs to be re-written to those that need to be told to do 1, 2, 3.

Garlic Broccoli Spears

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
I was surprised at how good this was. The lemon is so great with brocolli, I bet it would be good with other veggies. I took the advice of other people and added the lemon a little at a time. I ended up just squeezing a lemon over the brocolli and tasting, it was great. Didnt need as much as the recipe calls for unless you like it lemony.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
This was so good, its so simple! I cooked it today as a veggie side to a stuffed turkey. It was so colorful, I made sure to not cook the shrooms too much since it will look wilted and unappealing. I made one change, added fresh garlic, and 4 cloves minced. DIVINE!!!!!!1

Perfect, I hate paying a lot for a small thing of seasoning blend. I always have all these ingredients at home, just needed the formula to put it all together. Thanks

Fava Bean Breakfast Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
I am rating this five stars because this is a great dish, all the ingredients are correct, however the method is not. First, you saute the onion and tomatoes, until wilted. Then you add the canned fava beans and let it cook, while mushing with your fork. You add all the spices you wish to add (red pepper flakes is optional) and cumin is a MUST, however we dont add lemon, and parsley is only for garnish. I am arabic, this isnt just an Egyptian dish its a dish from the Arab cuisine.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: May 12, 2007
This recipe was great, I made some changes, first I used beef since I didnt have shrimp. I will start following this recipe with seafood, chicken or beef. I did not have honey so I used 1 teaspoon of sugar. I also doubled the sauce like everyone else stated. I used a variety of different vegetables which was really tasty and provided such a wonderful looking dish. I cant wait to try it with shrimp.
