Jalapeno Margaritas

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
Did some work in the garden today and I have Jalapenos galore! Stumbled across this recipe and WOW what a great afternoon treat to beat the 90 degree heat! (hehehe I am a poet and didn't even know it). The Margarita was delicious-- I didn't have agave and used Sweet and Sour Mix with some Rose's Lime Juice. Very Good although I think I will try to muddle the jalapeno on the next batch. Thanks for a great recipe!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
"Great Cluck for your Buck!" This was a very easy recipe! After reading previous reviews I placed my chicken breast in the crockpot with chicken broth and Franks Wing sauce and cooked on low for about 6 hours. Afterwards, I shredded the chicken and placed back in the crockpot with more franks sauce. I just tasted and poured~tasted and poured~this may have helped with the salty taste previous posters reported. Great sandwich served with french fries and cut celery and of course a great football game~GO VOLS!!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
very easy recipe! thanks to those who posted previous reviews. I am new at this cooking thing-especially with a crockpot-which is my new best friend! I used 3 boneless/skinless chick breast and added enough chick broth to cover meat. I added 2 cans cream of chick soup and 1 can cream of mushroom soup. I was worried that was to much liquid but as another reviewer had said the biscuits soaked it up. I forgot to add the butter-but i couldn't tell it made any difference. Very Very Very Good! Thanks for the recipe!!!

Banana Split "Cake"

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
Update 11/26/2011- I made this for one of our Thanksgiving desserts and EVERYONE loved this cake. I made this last year for a holiday party at work. The only thing I would change would be to make 2 cakes this year! This cake was DELICIOUS and so easy to make. I used everything in the recipe except for the chocolate and I didn't miss it. The graham cracker crust, the cream cheese, the pineapple just taste to so yummy!

I am giving it 5 stars for the prep work. I just made a batch this afternoon and haven't tasted it but what a easy recipe. I really hope it turns out as yummy as it looks! I am dying to taste it but I know it will need a few weeks for all of the flavors to settle.

Dilly Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2012
Three weeks ago I made my first batch of "Dilly Beans" and have been waiting anxiously for the day I could "pop" the seal. The day has arrived and OMG they are delicious! Another review stated that they ran out of brine and so did I...so just a FYI, I would probably make a double batch of the brine.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2013
After making this recipe, I am changing my status from beginner cook to intermediate! I followed the recipe as written but did add (as other reviewers suggested) a tsp of vanilla extract and cinnamon to the batter. The crumb topping was equally as delicious as the muffin. I added extra pinch of cinnamon to the topping and beat for about 15 secs. I baked for 18 minutes at 350` and my muffins are DELICIOUS!!! Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Grilled Jalapeno Tuna Steaks

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2014
This is our favorite recipe! My husband has made this numerous times (sorry for the late posting) since it is my favorite meal. He doubles the "sauce" so I can "dip" my meal in. Southerners love their dips/sauces...especially with this meal. Delicious!!

Praline Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2014
This was the 2nd year I made this recipe. This year I followed another reviewer and put all of my ingredients in my mixer and mixed everything until smooth. I baked 4 pounds of sweet potatoes which equaled 4 cups. I also added cinnamon, nutmeg and a little more brown sugar (couple of teaspoons-to taste). Last year, I was told that it was okay-it could have been sweeter but that was my fault because I totally screwed the topping up. However, this year I made it again and EVERYONE loved it. The topping was delicious, the potatoes were so smooth and creamy. I will probably cut back on the butter (maybe 3/4 stick of butter-rather than an entire stick) for the topping but besides that it was soooooo yummy. Thank you for sharing this yummy recipe!

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2014
First time cheesecake maker here. I made this dessert as requested by my niece and this was delicious!!! I had to take a lot of grief from my family for taking 2 slices home with me (too stuffed for dessert). I followed the recipe but I did follow the advice from others and added extra cinnamon, nutmeg and a couple of sashes of pumpkin pie spice too taste. Marveled beautiful. Only had1 small crack after baking for 55minutes. I also set a pan of water on the bottom shelf and used all room temp ingredients. I also kept the oven at a consistent temperature--no peeking. Inext time, I may cut the back time back to 45 minutes as my crust started to burn (in my opinion) but then again I have never eaten a cheesecake with a ginger snap crust. I bought 2 different brands of ginger snap cookies and after tasting them, decided to go with the Archway ginger snap cookie, a "spicier". Cookie. Another thing I should mention is that I forgot to use the last 1/4 cup of sugar that was called for in the recipe. The pie was still sweet and no one seemed to notice the forgotten sugar. I also used reduced fat cream cheese. A few more pointers, I did let the cheesecake "cool" in the oven for a hour-with door ajar. I then removed from oven -ran a knife around the side of my pan and let the cheesecake continue to cool on the countertop for another hour before refrigerating overnight. Delicious, delicious...everyone raved over just how delicious this was! Thank you for sharing!

Chocolate Mousse Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2015
As an novice baker this recipe was a tough one for me. I had never made my own "pudding" or "whip cream" before. However, after making this recipe I think I should advance my title to intermediate baker, lol! First, I followed the recipe for the filling exactly as written with the exception of making a cookie crust. My family (including myself) LOVED the recipe!! I just wished it would have come out fluffier (like one reviewers, "Naples", picture). My mom said to get the fluffiness I need to make sure my bowl & beaters are cold when I make the "whip cream". I will definitely try this recipe again to see if I can get a light , airy mousse. Either way I am very proud of myself because I made one heck of great pie!!!

Jambalasta

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2015
I typically do not rate recipes that I do not follow but this recipe is a keeper! I had a kielbasa that I needed to do something with so I thought I would give this recipe a try with the ingredients I had on hand. I used some frozen chicken, onion, pepper mixture that I had in the freezer for lettuce wraps. Also, I used sirracha sauce, oregano, smoked paparika, basil, penne pasta, the kielbasa, garlic powder and added a little pasta sauce to the noodles. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised how this turned out. I will definitely try the recipe again maybe as written next time, but it was definitely a great base recipe. Thanks!!

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: May 9, 2015
Baked crust for 10 minutes but I think I should have used 1c melted butter to the crust. Mine was delicious but it did not hold together like I wanted. The filling was delicious!! I cut the sugar down to 3/4c when adding to the 2 packages of lite cream cheese filling. I made a mistake though with the jello- although, I used SF strawberry jello and after mixing 2 pkgs of jello with 2 c of boiling water (as others suggested), I put the bowl in the fridge. The problem is that I forgot about it and left it in the fridge for about 30 minutes. When I added it to pie, the jello was already set and ended up being a "glob" of jello on the pie- still delicious though. So as a note to myself for making this again- I will try 1 c of melted butter for the crust. Keep the 3/4 sugar, 3/4 tub of cool whip for filling. Lastly, I will not leave the jello mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes-maybe 5 or 10 minutes then pour it on top of pie. The recipe was delicious- everyone loved it and asked for the recipe! Will make it again and try alternatives mentioned above. Thanks for a great recipe!!!

Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2015
I made this a couple of months ago and just realized I forgot to rate- so I am going off my memory. It was delicious...everyone loved it, even my very picky mother! I followed someone Skye review and put my jello in the refrigerator to thicken- the problem is I forgot about until 30 minutes later- but it still worked. I believe I used 2 pkgs of cream cheese and 1 package of pretzels.
