Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
Not too sweet, and they're moist. Easy to make, and they look elegant. FOR PEOPLE WITH FLAT COOKIES: try letting the dough chill, and rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour AT LEAST. Any type of dough should be let to rest after forming. Just cover/wrap it and pop it in the fridge. No need to add or adjust the ingredients.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
Great recipe! My only suggestion is to refrigerate the dough for at least 30 mins. Makes it easier to work with and the cookies come out nice and chunky.

Food for the Gods

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
This is a good recipe. I followed others advice and reduced the butter to 3/4 c. As with both sugars. 2 whole c. Of sugar would have been far too sweet. My batch came out a bit Daley though. I remember food for the gods having a fudgey texture, like brownies. Feels more fulfilling. Maybe I over beated the eggs? Also, I added 3/4 tsp. Vanilla and 1/4 tsp of almond extract, just to give a nutty aroma. Plus 1tbs of honey. This would also pair well with whipped cream cheese!

Green Tea Layer Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
I'm only giving three stars b/c I have not tried this yet. By the looks of it, some people recommend grinding up the green tea leaves that come in a brewing sack. I recommend you don't. It is not the same thing as match a powder. Not at all. If you've never had matcha or match a flavored things, understandable why you'd think 'making your own' is sufficient. Go and buy the real thing! The Green tea leaves used in making matcha are harvested at a different stage of maturity, resulting in a distinctly different flavor. Real matcha will not only provide a more prominent flavor, but give your cake&frosting a more delightful colour.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
These cookies are amazing! the brandy is a great twist. Although, i did reduce the white chocolate chips to 1/2 cup and the cranberries to 3/4 cup. i found the cookies' sweetness overbearing with the original amt. also, soften the butter, but not to room temperature(unless you want to chill the batter while the oven comes to temp.) it will help in the long run- the cookie batter will be less sticky- and will prevent the cookie from spreading too much during baking.

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
for taste, i give this recipe 5 stars, but when handling the baked cake i found it hard to work with... it could have fallen apart easily. maybe i over mixed the batter. I made it as a mothers day cake with cooked meringue icing- everyone loved it :D
