Luscious Slush Punch

I left out the sugar and it was plenty sweet enough. I doubled the recipe and found it to be a little watered down. Next time I'll use a little less water. The flavor was good and guests all liked it. it doesn't need too much time to get slushy before it just melts.

very good. I followed the recipe as written except I put closer to 1/4t of cayenne and it was great. Next time I might add some garlic also but hubby loved it. I served it over brown rice with some seared spinach and cottage cheese. Yum

Old Settlers' Baked Beans

Great recipe. Will definitely make again. I used 1lb bacon and no hamburger. I didn't have great Northern beans so I used 1 can of kidney, 1 can of pork & beans, 1 can of white beans, and 1 can of pinto beans. I put it in the crock pot on high for a couple hours then low. Everyone loved it.

Basil Dill Coleslaw

This was good. I used a bag of ready coleslaw mix, added some shredded carrots and a little extra cabbage. It needed the carrots for color. I only used 2T of sugar and probably used more like 3.5-4T of fresh basil. I think it was a little too much because the basil is very prominent. I will definitely use this again but cut back on the fresh basil or try some dried instead. Thanks!

Bacon Chicken and Dumplings

This was my first ever chicken and dumplings and it will definitely be part of our rotation now. I used a bag of frozen mixed vegetables and a bag of frozen beans instead of canned corn- the greens were much needed. I didn't have chicken seasoning so I just used some Johnnys and plenty of pepper and the amount of spice was perfect. I had half of a whole chicken I'd cooked in the crockpot the day before and that worked great. I also thickened it with an unmeasured 1/2c Corn Starch and it was the perfect consistency. I used only 1.5c of half and half and the rest milk and it was great. I used Bisquick for the dumplings and needed to follow their proportions to get it right. It tasted great, good reviews from hubby, and I liked it was all in one pan.

Fresh Broccoli Salad

Great salad. I added lots of extra broccoli and there was still plenty of sauce. Everyone loved it and hubby even sat down with the bowl of left overs later that night. Will definitely be making this again and again.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

This was easy to make but came out bland. I added a bunch more pepper, onion powder, some salt, some crushed garlic, and about a 1/4c Cougar Gold cheese. Then it was great.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies III

I was skeptical but these turned out pretty good. I did 10 min in the oven and 2 on the sheet and they were done just right. I use a fork on them before baking and I would recommend doing that. They also lacked a little flavor so I added a little cinnamon to the dough. Pretty good for a quick and easy no egg recipe.

Amish Macaroni Salad

This has good flavor but it ended up pretty goopey. I cut back the sugar to 1/2c and the dressing tastes good, but even after adding additional noodles, is still quite wet. Then, because I added noodles, it looks pretty bland. I added extra celery and eggs to even out the extra noodles but it needs more color. Next time I'll find some extra veggies to put in and decrease the amount of dressing. Overall tastes good though.

Breakfast Casserole

great very easy breakfast casserole. I added a bag of prepared spinach to the sausage and it was a definite must. I layered the bread, cheese, and sausage spinach mixture the night before then whipped up the egg mixture and baked just before going to the gathering. It was a hit with everyone, especially me because it was so easy to make!

Rhubarb Dream Bars

This was a good recipe. I followed the directions exactly except I probably put extra rhubarb in. It was a little soft so would have been good to remember other reviews that said bake a little longer. Crust was awesome, will keep that part in mind for other stuff. good reviews at pot luck

Sour Cream-Rhubarb Squares

Definitely more of a coffee cake. Especially since the topping barely covered the top so I doubled it. I put in 2 cups of rhubarb and next time will do 3+ because I'd like it a little more tart/some rhubarb with each bite. But very good recipe despite the jumbled directions.

Pork Steaks

This was a good recipe for pork steak. I used lower sodium soy and added some Worcestershire. I didn't have green onions so I used some of the leeks I had out for the yummy potatoes gratin I made to go with steaks. I cooked the steaks to well done 180 (I'm prego)and they were still mostly moist and had good flavor. Would be really good if you could pull them at 170. Will use this recipe again. Thanks

Fresh Asparagus and Chicken Casserole

This was an alright casserole. Definitely edible but not super. I think I didn't like the oregano. I used whole wheat rotini and that worked great. I cooked 2 chicken breasts in the olive oil then tossed in the onions, 3 cloves of garlic until tender. Then I added in the rest of the vegetables. I used 1 cup of chicken stock and brought to boil then covered and boiled for a few minutes to steam the asparagus. I used the 1/2t of oregano and also added a generous sprinkle of pepper and some cayenne. I added some flour in with only a cup of sour cream. I didn't have Parmesan so I used monteray jack and mixed some in with the casserole and then topped with some more. I didn't use layers, I just mixed it all together. It was a nice looking casserole, colorful and fairly healthy. I might try it again but omit the oregano.

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

It was pretty good. SUPER tender, I could barely get it out without it falling apart. I omitted the lemon juice and sesame oil because I didn't have them and it was OK. It tasted alright but didn't have much pizazz. Tasted great as leftovers in stir-fry.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Very good. I definitely recommend to add black beans, also used fresh corn in season- yummy. I like it thicker but didn't thicken it and it was great. I didn't have cumin so I omitted it and it got great reviews from the hubby. Easy and quick.

Apple Crisp II

This was a very good recipe. I cut the water to 1/4cup and doubled the topping, like others had mentioned. Cutting the water worked fine, the apples were perfectly crisp and the gooey insides were just right. There was definitely lots of topping. I used Honeycrisp apples and they were fabulous. Everyone liked it. Will do this one again.

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce
