Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2014
I made the recipe as written except I baked my cake in a deep 8 inch round cake pan. It only took about 40 minutes to cook. Next time I will bake it at 350. The bottom got just a little more brown than I like. I don't recall ever making a cake without flavoring. Since I often make shortbread without flavoring I tried it. It's perfectly delicious. It has a somewhat "natural", for lack of better term, quality to it without the flavoring. The texture was spot on, dense yet fluffy still. This is the perfect cake to serve with strawberries. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Jen's Fresh and Spicy Salsa

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2014
I liked this recipe. I peeled and deseeded the tomatoes before using them. I also used fresh garlic instead of powdered. I tripled the recipe because I have a lot of tomatoes. (I'm going to freeze half the salsa.) I left out the black pepper because my 3 year old only likes mild or medium salsa. After I set hers aside, I added black pepper and cayenne to the rest. Yum. Thanks for sharing the recipe

Peanut Butter Cornflake Crunch Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
These are really yummy. I made these with 7 cups of cereal instead of 10, crunchy peanut butter and rainbow sprinkles on top. They're just as described, like crispy treats except with cornflakes and peanut butter. I definitely would not use 10 cups of cereal as stated. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Peanut Butter Fingers III

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2013
These are very good, especially considering how easy they are to make. They're perfect when you want a very sweet treat. The peanut butter layer is deliciously chewy. I thought the chocolate layer was a little thick. Next time I might add an extra half recipe of peanut butter mixture but keep the amount of chocolate the same. I don't normally like chunky peanut butter but I'm glad I got it for this recipe. I don't usually like treats like this but I thought they were really good. My 2 1/2 year old took one bite and said "These are good!". But she wouldn't eat any more. Though she likes peanut butter and chocolate, they were just too rich for her. The person I made them for likes really sweet treats. I'm pretty sure he's going to REALLY like them. Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe!

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
This recipe is a winner. I've made these three times. The first time my brother (experienced with cooking out) did the grilling. They came out perfectly and I got rave reviews. The second and third time I (a rookie) did the grilling. They weren't so perfect but totally delicious. This is perhaps my favorite way to eat bacon. Make these and you will have a happy family!

Roomali Roti

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
I really like this recipe! I've made it twice and am going to make it again tonight. It is great with hummus or used as a small tortilla would be. I like that this bread is economical and can be made fresh very easily. Thanks for sharing this recipe. I will make it very often!

Petra's Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
This is a very nice recipe. I did what another reviewer did...split the cake in half and put it back in the pan (with the strawberries in the middle). My sweetie has a bit of a sweet tooth so I used cream cheese frosting on top. Thanks for sharing Petra. I will make this again in the future.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
This is a really good yellow cake. Note it's a yellow cake, not a butter cake. Butter gives a cake a nice flavor but the texture of this is much better due to the shortening. Ive been looking for a good yellow cake for a while...and this is it for me. Its better after sitting covered at room temperature for a day or after being frozen and defrosted. I also use butter flavored Crisco in this. My family really likes this cake. Thanks for sharing!

Sweet and Sour Pork III

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
We made sweet and sour chicken with this recipe last night. We used boneless skinless chicken thighs in place of the pork. It was delicious! This recipe is a keeper!
