Spiced Pecans

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2003
Pat, I don't know you but I love you--:) I have never made this kind of pecan, but have had them many times(the store bought kind) and for Christmas this year I bought pecans and starting searching for the just right recipe. These are so easy and just fantastic. Thank you so much for the "Christmas Gift" of a wonderful recipe! I did turn down the oven heat to 325 and cooked for twenty mins, turning them twice-- i used a disposable foil pan, i knew they'd cook quickly. Peggy in TX.

Sausage Potato Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2003
Absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing a great recipe. I used Smoked Sausage that had two large links in the package and used all of it, used the same soups and added a half of a can of corn at the end of the cooking time. Added a little water during cooking and a little milk towards the end. Served with Garlic Bread fresh out of the oven and it was excellent/ Super comfort food especially in this cold weather!thnks again, Peggy in TX

Cranberry, Sausage and Apple Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2003
This stuffing was incredible!!!!!!!!I think that it was one of my most "complimented" cooking efforts--and I cook all the time:)It made two pans (11x9) and i made one without onions and one with. I used onion instead of leeks and used about 2 cups. I absolutely think that the Italian sausage makes this recipe, so if you can make it that way I highly recommend it. I added the broth last pouring a little over one cup over the ingredients in each pan then used a spatula to press the broth into the stuffing. I covered the pans and let the stuffing sit for about 30 mins and then baked as directed. One comment was it has a gourmet flavor, another had leftovers for breakfast because they absolutely loved it and everyone basically just raved about it. Thank you so much for this recipe that made this Thanksgiving so special!!!!!!!!!!Peggy in Texas

Slow Cooker Creamed Spinach

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2003
WOW!What an awesome recipe. I broke my crockpot while I was preparing this, but I decided to make it anyway. I baked it for one hour at 350, covered then for another ten mins or so, uncovered and it browned up nicely. It almost tastes like broccoli and cheese rice. If you serve it "piping" (very) hot you dont taste the wonderful flavors as well---just so that everyone knows how good this is, Thank you so much for the wonderful vegetable recipe!!!youre the best!--Lady M----

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2002
I made this in the crockpot and did not like it at all. Maybe I am too used to the stuff that comes out of a can. Also one reviewer wrote that she did not like the color, it wasnt a pretty red color when it was done cooking. same here. Martha made a Chutney on her show and it retained the pretty red color---dont know what the problem is with this?:(

All Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2002
I made this using red delicious apples and cut back the sugar to 3 cups and added 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. If you prepare the apples in advance, and cook this while you sleep, youll be in better shape, then wake up and do the canning part. Its time consuming and could use a little more time with the lid off, but terrific, great, wonderful---need i say more?
