Hot Dog a la Potato

This is a recipe that I grew up with and have made for my kids. I look forward to this simple lunch every time we have leftover mashed potatoes. The combination of salty hot dog, homemade mashed potatoes, and melty cheese is a winner. A little mustard on the side makes it perfect! As other reviewers have said, you can vary the type of hot dog or cheese to go with what you have on hand. Over the years I have made these in the oven, under the broiler, in the microwave, and even in a skillet. In the oven is probably the best tasting method but it takes the longest.

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

So good! Don't leave out the can of beer. It adds rich flavor without tasting like you added a can of beer!! The whole family LOVES this recipe. I have made it several times.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

I use this recipe as a marinade for grilling pork chops. I marinade the pork for at least an hour, then grill. I reduce down the remaining marinade and brush on to the pork chops as they come off the grill. The pork chops (even thin ones) stay very moist!

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

I prefer a thick layer of crisp on top, so I skip adding half of the crumble mixture in the bottom of the pan. It turns out great that way. We have taken this for pot-luck dinners and always return home with an empty pan.

Johnny Marzetti IV

We used to have this all the time growing up in Ohio - where Marzetti was started. We've always made it with elbow noodles, so I made that substitution - otherwise, it was just how I remembered! The Worcestershire sauce gives the tomato sauce a "meaty" flavor - don't skip it! I made a big batch and froze half before adding the pasta. It tasted great and the whole family went back for seconds. Great hot meal for busy families!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

This was very easy and tasted great. I used bone-in pork ribs because that is what I had on hand. Make sure you put it in the oven as directed, that makes a huge difference!

Sweet and Sour Pork III

I have been making this dish for about 5 years and everyone in my family loves it. I marinate the pork just with soy sauce or bottled "asian marinade" and it still turns out great. Sometimes I will add water chestnuts after the vegetables have cooked for a little extra crunch. I find that it is better to add the sauce to the meat and vegetables (not the other way around), so that I can control the amount of sauce.

Amy's Barbecue Chicken Salad

I used a tablespoon of dry taco seasoning (low salt version) mixed in with the Ranch dressing instead of the barbecue sauce. The whole family loved this dish. I will make it again.
