Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast
Have made this several times following the recipe, but also trying some of the suggestions in the reviews. This last time I coated the roast in flour, S&P, & garlic powder then browned for a few min all around. Into the crock I used low sodium beef broth instead of water, making sure the meat was covered by the mixture. Added 1/2# peeled boiling onion
and turned on high for what was supposed to be the 1st hr, after 3 hrs I noticed we were still on high, turned down to low and added a small bag of baby carrots, supper was still 5 hours away, so after 3 hrs on high & 5 hrs on low we were pleasantly surprised to have the most tender pot roast yet with gravy that was top shelf, served with smashed garlic red potatoes & a Red Zinfandell wine.
