Five Spice Turkey Cheeseburgers

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2012
Absolute hit! Only mods were 1 1/2 cup addt'l broth and 1/2 cup white wine, dried parsley, and omitted red pepper flakes. As many others said, this definitely had to cook longer. I had to leave home right after cooking this and didnt know what to expect from my family of diverse tastes. But, I returned to a chorus of "that pasta was delicious" as I walked in the door.

Salmon with Caramelized Leeks

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
Definitely a keeper! Didn't change a thing with the leeks and carrots, but did add a bit more seasoning to the salmon. I plan to serve this the next time we have guests.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
This was a hit! Much better than just using bottled BBQ sauce. My only changes: i did not use chili sauce because I didnt have it. Left out Worcestershire sauce because my daughter is allergic to it but loves ribs. Instead I used soy sauce. My sister-in-law who is like a rib-cooking top chef loved them.

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
I was initially very leery of this recipe - all the ingredients cooked together then being puréed. I like texture in my food. So, i took the advice of one reviewer and only pureed half. Surprisingly, it was delicious! Not only my first time making butternut squash soup, but first time making the butternut itself. I also added curry, garlic and nutmeg.

Candied Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2011
A family hit! Only made a couple of changes. Read one review about leaving out the oregano and decided to as well (seemed kind of weird with such a sweet sauce). Used spicy brown mustard for an extra kick. Finally, left out the Worcestershire sauce because of food allergies. Served over a mixture of brown/jasmine rice. The sweet sauce along with Hawaiian sweet bread on the side and wallah! I was like the mother of the year to my kids.

Flounder Florentine

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2011
No blandness here. Only thing I changed was fresh instead of frozen spinach. I added a bit more chopped onion and Parmesan cheese, simply because I really like the taste of both (plus I rarely measure my ingredients). Also, added sauteed fresh mushrooms be cause i had them and they make everything better for my fam. baked for about 2 minutes extra for the browning and it was great! Hubby gave it ten thumbs up and will be taking for lunch.

Jammin' Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
4 Thumbs up (my family's thumbs)! My oldest daughter peeked into the pan halfway through because she said the smell was so good! The only mods i made were: omitted WorCestershire sauce because of my child's allergy to anchovies; grape jelly instead of jam; and beef bouillon with the water. Also, because one member of my fam has a total disliking for potatoes, I omitted them and served over rice instead.

Green Beans with Cherry Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
I give this recipe 5 starts but myself only 3.5 :-). Recipe is awesome, but i made the mistake of cooking my grean beans a bit too long and they didn't have the crunch I like. Still, the tomatoe mixture was YUMMY! covered up the overcooked beans. Honestly, i would eat the tomato mixture all by itself. It wasn't too sweet and the fresh basil really set it off. Will definitely be making again.

Pan-Seared Chicken Breasts with Shallots

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
This recipe was a huge hit with my entire family (who diverse taste are enough to drive any mom crazy)! I was looking for a simple chicken recipe to test out my new Emeril frying pan and this was perfect. I stayed true to the recipe for the most part, but added fresh mushrooms and fresh basic that i'd just bought from the farmer's market. I also tripled the sauce, because my fam is all about the sauces. The chicken turned out perfect - most and very juicy (i went extreme on the pounding). The sauce was the kicker. My kids and husband all wanted leftovers the next evening!

Daddy's Fried Corn and Onions

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
I've done this recipe several time and it is Excellent as is! However, this time i threw in a little less than a tsp of fresh basil (had just picked some up from the farmers market and the smell was devine). Next time i may try adding fresh garlic
