Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2015
Very good, though the yield was about half of what the recipe indicated. (A regular batch gave me about 3 dozen 2-in cookies.) I used a mix of milk chocolate and white chocolate M&Ms, and they're terrific.

Raspberry Mazurkas

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2014
Very sweet, very heavy. Will try again with the following changes: all fresh fruit rather than jam and cut the brown sugar in half. Will serve as dessert with light whipped cream or frozen yogurt, to balance the heaviness.

Apple Crisp Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
Delicious! I can't wait to try this with fresh peaches or blueberries. I made larger mini-pies, using standard muffin tins. Took about 22-24 minutes to bake. Let them cool completely before removing them from the tin, or they could break.

Righteous Raspberry Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
Five stars for the recipe as it is. It couldn't be simpler. I would give it a bonus star for the addition I made: I drizzled raspberry syrup over the top of the mix before baking, making a swirl. It added a perfect raspberry finish.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
The cookie by itself is a bit bland. Haven't tries the icing yet, and I hope it gives the cookie more punch. Next time, I might increase the nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon.

Zucchini Brownies

I read several dozen reviews first and followed the recipe to the letter. These were awful, inedible. I'll try them again someday,

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Tough, mealy, and dry. I will try adding Old Bay to a different cheddar biscuit recipe.

Low-Fat Apple Spice Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
I will NOT make them again. Very tough and chewy. Flavors were so mild, I couldn't taste anything but the ginger. I followed the recipe to a T. I mixed the batter minimally, and took them out of the oven after 20 minutes.

Blueberry Streusel Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
Very good on its own, with no major changes necessary. I used orange zest (had no lemon on hand), and the orange was a nice complement to the blueberry. Also, I have a convection oven, and the cobbler was done in 30 minutes at 350F. Really, really good served warm with a side of vanilla ice cream.

Strawberry Lemonade Ice Pops

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2013
I cut the recipe in half, and it still made 12 popsicles. I must have small molds. I froze the leftover mix into cubes, which were good in juice and water.

Iced Mochas

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2013
So good, so easy! Reading other reviews, I decided to taste it as I added the ingredients, so that the ratios would match my taste. I'm glad I did because the recipe does NOT need any sugar, and only half of the chocolate syrup. My version tastes exactly like a Mocha Frappuchino. Next time, I'll add a bit of vanilla.

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: May 24, 2013
Out of this world. I'm not a big fan of banana/chocolate, but I tried these because my husband enjoys banana/chocolate chip muffins. There's something about the coffee... it's subtle, but it really "joins" the banana and chocolate. It tones down the tangy banana and enhances the chocolate. I'm definitely making these again, perhaps adding more coffee. And I used mini chocolate chips (as I often do in baking) to distribute the chocolate better. Thank you for a great recipe.

Chef John's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: May 18, 2013
Good recipe. I found it a bit bland, but my family loved it, thus 4 stars. Next time I'll add more mustard, and maybe mix in a stronger cheese in addition to the cheddar. I was glad to find a recipe that didn't call for processed cheeses. Thanks for sharing!

Fresh Fruit and Yogurt Ice Pops

Reviewed: May 17, 2013
The original recipe made way too much for the 8 popsicle forms I have. Next time, I'll reduce it by half, if not more. I used the prescribed 1/4 c. sugar, and I found it much too sweet. (I had used vanilla yogurt as the base.) Next time I'll omit nearly all sugar, and maybe add a small amount of cinnamon or alcohol-free vanilla instead. I look forward to trying smoothie popsicles with peaches this summer. Thanks for sharing!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: May 17, 2013
Good as is, perhaps a little dense, but still a good, filling muffin. After trying the original recipe, I made it with white chocolate chips (instead of semi-sweet) and walnuts (instead of pecans), whole wheat flour (instead of all-purpose), and I added 3/4 cup of dried cranberries. Really, really, really good.

Toddler Muffins

Reviewed: May 5, 2013
Delicious! These were just wonderful straight out of the oven. I look forward to trying different variations in the future. The flavor of bananas really dominates the original recipe, which is fine if you want to "mask" the other vegetables. I might double up the squash and carrots next time, since they were totally obscured by the banana in the original ratios. And next time I plan to add dried cranberries. Thank you for sharing!
