About this Cook
I am a 22 year old wife living in Akron Ohio. I am a born-again Christian since 2009. I would put my testimony up but there's not very much space on here to show it. So I'll give you a link!
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, cake, junk food, breads, soups.... EVERYTHING!!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Oh, so many. Of course, as with many, cooking with my mom at Christmas time was my favorite. I loved making divinity and other things. But now that I have a family of my own, I gotta say that Thanksgiving is my favorite.
My cooking triumphs
Surprisingly, one of my greatest triumphs was when I made cinnamon rolls. Now I love to bake them often!
My cooking tragedies
One of my greatest tragedies was when I was trying to make no yeast dinner rolls from a recipe on this site and when it called for mayonnaise, I substituted it for the light stuff. Those were the nastiest tasting rolls ever! Another tragedy was when I didn't pay attention to the date on the taco shells we had in the pantry and I made a taco for my husband. Turns out that the shell was expired and my husband still shudders at the thought of how gross that taco tasted. Also melting the colander and several other things... One of them also being a knife I accidentally left in the oven while cooking the turkey... It melted to the pan. Haha!

Nacho Cheese Sauce
This is a great cheese sauce! One big suggestion though, buy the Kraft Deli Deluxe sharp cheddar slices in the 8 pack. Just use the whole thing. It makes it wonderfully cheesy and creamy. I'm eating it right now! I mixed about 1/3c fresh salsa with it and it made a great nacho sauce. This was definitely worth it!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars IV
These were amazing! Possibly my favorite dessert I've made in a long time. Since I only had one cup of chocolate chips leftover, I decided to add about 2 Tbsp of cocoa powder and 1 tsp of vanilla extract to the mix. And Lisa R's suggestion about the peanut butter to the chocolate chips was a fantastic idea! it made it so much easier to cut into and added lots more flavor! I will be making these over and over again!
