Simple But Awesome Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
I put olive oil in the bottom of a glass casserole dish just to coat, then arranged the chops in the dish. I dotted the chops with a little butter, added the seasonings (including a little garlic salt) and sealed the dish with foil before baking. Tender, easy, and good!

Blackberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2006
I don't use self-rising flour, so I added 1 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp of salt to EACH cup of flour needed. I also varied the assembly somewhat: I put the berries in the 9x13 dish, sprinkled a bit of sugar over them, mixed the flour and sugar together, then added the milk and a tsp of vanilla. I melted the 1/2 cup butter and poured it into the batter. A few quick strokes of the spoon to blend it in a little, then I poured it over all the berries, making sure I covered the berries well. Turned out great!

Very good and easy to make. Add milk in small amounts until the consistency is as you like it.

Blueberry Muffins I

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
These were okay, and were very easy to make. Next time I'll use more sugar and add some vanilla. I drizzled some vanilla glaze over the first batch since they tasted a bit bland.

Cheesiest Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2004
This is excellent. Since I wanted a heavier-textured soup, I used a potato masher to mash the potatoes to the consistency I wanted -- very potato-y without being too lumpy. My family loved this -- the first pot vanished in a hurry, and I made a second potful by request two days later!

Lemony Steamed Fish

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2004
Very good and easy to make. I baked the fish (blue hake fillets) in a glass casserole dish, covering the top with foil, drizzling olive oil over the fish before adding the spices and lemon juice. You can adjust the amount of spices to make it as mild or as spicy as you wish. My family really enjoyed this; I'll be making it again.

Pull-Apart Bacon Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2004
Very easy to make. This is a good, savory bread to go with meals, or as an appetizer. This doesn't last long at my house!

Chocolate Cherry Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2003
Excellent cake, and VERY easy to prepare! While cooking the icing, I was concerned about it being too thin, but when I spread it on the cake, it was just right.

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2003
My first time making a cheesecake, and this one turned out perfectly! Thanks for posting this recipe. Cheesecake mixes will stay on the store shelves from now on, since making my own from scratch is so easy, and it's so much better.

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2003
Very good coffee cake flavor. This was a big hit with my family. Would be good with chopped pecans stirred in the batter. This is definitely a sweet cake -- cut it into small servings.

Spiced Applesauce Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2003
Very good and simple to make. I added half a cup of raisins, and baked the loaf 55 minutes in a dark metal pan. My family asked me to make this again before the first loaf was gone!

Apple Strudel

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2003
Very good and easy to make. I used half the butter than called for, spraying some of the phyllo sheets with a bit of cooking spray instead to keep the sheets from drying out, and preventing greasiness. Most of the butter I used went on the outer layer after rolling up the strudel, which gave it a lovely golden color after baking. I used Gala apples, for a sweet-tart taste, and one half-teaspoon of a blend of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, ginger, and a touch of cloves. I didn't have golden raisins or currants, so I used half a cup of regular raisins, and it turned out fine. The family really enjoyed it, and have asked for it again.

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2003
These are very good, and easy to make. The family was very pleased with the results. Recipe makes 12 large, or 24 small muffins. (I opted for small, in an attempt to make them last a little longer. They vanished in a hurry!)

Old Fashioned Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2003
Very tasty! I cooked this as a cobbler (one crust on top, baked in a glass baking dish). It turned out beautifully. The family loved it. I sliced the berries in half first, so there wouldn't be strawberry "lumps" in the pie. The flour did a good job of thickening the juices.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: May 12, 2003
Very good taste and texture. I used butter instead of shortening for a butter-cake taste. Goes together easily and quickly. My cake was done within 35 minutes in a dark metal pan, so it's important to test your cake before the timer goes off.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2003
Definitely a great recipe! Couldn't be easier to prepare, and the gravy (thickened with a little cornstarch) is excellent over mashed potatoes. We'll be making this dish often.

Italian Style Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2003
Very good taste. I cut the breading amounts by 1/3, and used just 1/4 cup butter. I used center-cut boneless chops. The chops turned out perfect, crispy coating on the outside and still moist on the inside. I plan to try this with boneless chicken breasts too.

Honey-butter Biscuit Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2003
A good, basic butter cookie recipe. Good honey flavor, with a hint of vanilla. You could drizzle a little chocolate glaze over them for more taste, if you want, or roll in cinnamon sugar before baking. I halved the recipe and got 3 dozen 2-inch cookies. I'll make these again!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2003
These are excellent! I set the temperature between 375 and 400 and they were plenty browned and baked through (not doughy) in 15 minutes. The bread machine does the hard part of making the dough -- I never though cinnamon rolls could be easy to make, until I tried this recipe. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Goes together quickly and makes a cake that beats a mix hands-down! This is excellent. This would make good chocolate cupcakes too.
