Irene's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
WOW! The flavor of this sauce is fantastic! I used it on my bbq that I make in the crock pot with a boston butt roast. The only thing I may do different next time is less oil and more ketchup. I would like a thicker sauce that can be added to bbq sandwiches, this was very runny. But it did great justice to my bbq! Thank you!

Mom's Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
The dressing really is good. I would have never known where to start but it has a great flavor with a little tang. I made the dressing according to the recipe and set it aside, only adding the amount I desired for my slaw (I only used a half head, because I just needed a side item for dinner.) I put the left over dressing in the freezer for next time!!! :) Also, based on a slaw I've had at a pot luck, I added chopped jalepenos (from the jar) and feta cheese. Yummy!

Country Pound Cake

Excellent! I think my cake was a little over cooked after 1hr 20mins. so I'll keep an eye on it next time. Otherwise, it is an awesome cake.

Thank you! So easy and delicious! My daughter was impressed that the blah milk (cream) turned into whipped cream that tasted so good.

Whole Wheat Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
I followed other reviews and used honey in place of mollases, 2cps ww flour and 1 cp white. These turned out fabulous and I even screwed up the rising process :P! I have not done much in the bread baking department but the suggestions of others to not mix the salt with the yeast and water was very helpful (I would have never known). Also, I put my dough in the oven to rise (turned off); from what I have read, the yeast creates it's own heat and the oven holds that heat to ensure your dough is at the correct temp. Well, I forgot it was in the oven and started to preheat it for cookies, LOL! That was my goof but I still kept plugging away and I now have wonderful pita bread that even my children like and take for school sandwiches! Thank you for the recipe and reviews!!!!

Gingerbread

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
Have made this recipe twice. The second round I actually used it to build a gingerbread house. It was awesome. I used an simple orange glaze between the two layer house. My house was pretty but more importantly it was perfectly edible and enjoyable.

Irish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
Wonderful! I have never made chicken and dumplings but I have used this recipe twice. It is sooo good. I love the added vegetables, but don't always add them, at my husband's request (he's picky) or just don't have them on hand. He has suggested adding corn; so I will try that next time. The only thing I suggest is following the measurements for the dumplings on the box instead of in this recipe. Thank you for the recipe!
