Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
I've made a lot of cinnamon rolls in my life and used a lot of different recipes looking for the "perfect" one. I have to say that these are the best I've ever made. My family of 5 will eat a whole pan in 24 hours. My stepmom is one of those people who can pass on sweet things but when she tried half of a roll she immediately had to go for the other half because they were THAT delicious. I'm so glad I found this recipe -- but my waistline is not!!

Corn Chowder - Fast and Great

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2005
This was a yummy cream soup. It's not quite thick enough to be a chowder but still delicious. I used Swanson Seasoned Chicken Broth since that was what I had on hand and it added a lot of flavor. I forgot to buy an onion so that was omitted. Next time I will try to remember to thicken it up a bit with some flour. Definitely a perfect supper for chilly winter weather.

Pumpkin Dump Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2005
Just has this tonight and it was SOOOO good. My family is a huge fan of pineapple cherry dump cake and I plan to surprise them at Thanksgiving with this new twist on a great cake. The one I had used yellow cake, but might try chocolate as one reviewer did and also the original spice cake version. Oh, my goodness, I'm going for seconds right now!!

Chocolate Zucchini Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2005
Nice and moist, I enjoyed every bite, as did my husband. Also like that it makes 2 loaves. That way, if you want to give one, you can still have one!! Also, as I normally do, I added extra chocolate chips. After all, you can never have to much chocolate!!

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2005
Made this tonight for dinner. Didn't turn out like I had hoped. I like a nice, crispy coating. However, I lack good frying ability so probably any recipe wouldn't be crispy. Also, the gravy was not that great. I make milk gravy for other things and it turns out fine, but I really do think the problem tonight was mine, not the recipes. This was an easy meal to prepare and I will try again.

Michelle's Peanut Butter Marbled Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2005
I made these for my Aunt's birthday last night and she thought she had died and gone to heaven. The only change I made was I added an extra spoonful of PB to make sure it had a good flavor -- and it did! Also, almost all of the homemade brownies recipes I have tried have been "greasy", as some described these. I guess it is pretty standard. If you chill these they aren't too bad.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

The were good, but they were just too full by filling the cup to the top. Next time I will fill the cups only 2/3 full or so.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Oh, my. These rose so beautifully in my oven. They were moist and had a perfect combination of pumpkin, chocolate and spices. My husband shared some at work and they got rave reviews.

Beer Roasted Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2005
This was so moist and yummy. It took a little longer than 90 minutes to cook and I had to add water to the pan, but it was worth the wait. I also made gravy from the drippings. It had a very intense lime smell (not taste), and the end result was a deep brown, intensely flavored gravy which was delicious with the chicken. My kids DID NOT like the gravy, though. This time I made biscuits but next time I will make potatoes for the gravy. Everyone loved it and it had a mild lime taste. Tnanks for sharing.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2005
This has the potential to be a really good recipe. I found that the time and temperature stated in the recipe were too long and the chicken became somewhat dry. Since I typically cook frozen chicken breasts at 375* for 40-45 minutes, I will definitely reduce the temperature and baking time. But I will make it again.

Easy Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2005
I planned to make this casserole before I actually had a recipe so I bought 2 cans cream of celery soup in anticipation. I followed the recipe and added a can of mushrooms. Some of the rice didn't get quite soft enough, but overall it was very good and my children enjoyed it for dinner, then lunch the next day. I will definitely be making this again. Also, I used legs and thighs (skin removed) in place of breasts.

Hot Cocoa Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2005
This was so rich and creamy. I used vanilla creamer and hazelnut (in separate batches) and gave this in a cellophane gift bag along with a plate of homemade frosted sugar cookies. I delivered them on a Christmas plate and put the bag of cocoa in a matching mug as gifts for my extended family. They we a big hit.

White Chocolate Cheesecake with White Chocolate Brandy Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2005
So delicious, but I made a few modifications based on other suggestions. I made a graham cracker crust, mostly b/c I love it, and I increased the white chocolate in the batter to 6 oz. I chose not to use the brandy sauce but garnished with whipped cream, raspberries and mint leaves.

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2002
After reading several reviews and seeing all the changes everyone made to this recipe, I looked for the opinion of someone who actually followed the recipe. I followed it exactly and it is the best frosting I've used. Fluffy, easy to work with, delicious and a beautiful white color. Thank you, Rick!!
