Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2013
Super easy & quick recipe. I added 16oz of ham, garlic & onion powder, black pepper, and chopped onions to the mix. I also only had 1 can cream of potato so I used that plus 1 can of cream of mushroom. SInce so many were saying it was too salty, I used a thin layer of shredded cheddar on top plus a little sprinkle of real parmesan on top (about 4 T) instead of all parmesan. I covered mine with aluminium and rempoved it for the last 20 mins to get brown on top. This is truly a great dish.

Garden Herb Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
First time I made bread and it was perfect! I even burn toast [Seriously] and this was simple to make. I used fresh thyme, dry basil, and Mrs. Dash tomato basil garlic seasoning since I didn't have the right ingredients & it still tastes great. I also used a tablespoon and 1/2 of parmesan cheese in the dough. The last few minutes I brushed on some egg yolk/milk wash & sprinkled some extra herbs and cheddar cheese on top for the last few minutes of baking. I did leave it in the oven for too long though and it is a little browner than planned but it looks & tastes great! Thanks for the recipe! Even great for beginners :)

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2013
5 stars for being very simple to make & something different to try! The changes I made were marinating in the teriyaki, chopping up 'ready cooked bacon' instead of bacon bits, using ranch yogurt dressing to cut fat & calories, and covering with foil for 25 minutes then without foil for an additional 6 or so minutes. The yogurt dressing did make it a little harder for the toppings to stay on the chicken but still was workable.

Zesty Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2013
The flavor is great but a little over whelming. I only used 1 lime and that was enough. I even did 1 1/2 cups quinoa and 3 cups water to mild out the flavor. Everything else I did exactly as the recipe stated.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
The first time I tried this recipe I made pancakes every morning for a week straight. This recipe is perfection. I actually just made these again today but was out of butter and they still turned out wonderful. This is one of the recipes I use most often on this site.

Sweet-and-Sour Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 25, 2014
I thought this was pretty good coleslaw. I used part sugar and part sweetener, much less than 1/3 cup and it tastes plenty sweet. The store had bags of coleslaw mix for $1 so I used about 5 cups of that plus the red pepper, black pepper, some finely minced red onion and a tiny bit of olive oil.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2014
Awesome!! I used the "change servings" option to make only 12 cookies. It asked for 1/4 of an egg. Even though I was not very accurate with measuring the egg, plus adding food coloring and extra flour to make up for the added liquid, these still worked. I added extra vanilla for flavor also. They tasted great and had a nice texture. I read another review that said to make sure the butter was completely softened so I made sure to do that as well. Will definitely make these again. Very easy and not very many ingredients!

Easy Mexican Casserole

Very easy and quick to make! The flavor is great and it can be used as a meal or an appetizer. The sour cream looks a little funny after being cooked but other than that I really love this recipe. Thanks!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
No fail recipe!! This recipe has all the ingredients you need for a good sauce, just keep it the way it is or slightly adjust it to your tastes. I prefer a little less sugar and more ketchup plus some Sriracha. :) Why buy the sauce at the store when you probably have all the ingredients already in your fridge?

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2013
Amazing! I forgot to say I added green pepper and kidney beans to suit our tastes. Made half a batch and used 1 bay leaf and 8 oz tomato sauce along with around 1/8 cup ketchup. Only had wheat angel hair pasta so I broke that in half and used it instead. Also used some fresh tomatoes.

Chocolate Covered Cherries

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2013
These were great and so easy!! The only change I would make would be to use a substitute for butter. The butter flavor was not something I wanted to taste in my chocolate covered cherries. I also just melted chocolate chips in the microwave instead of confectioners coating because I didn't have any.

Barbeque Tempeh Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
FANTASTIC! One thing I cannot do is cook but this recipe was a cinch! Delicious and simple to make, I think 1 cup of canned sloppy joe mix would work great in place of the barbecue sauce also. Thanks for sharing this recipe. This is something I will make often.
