Butternut Squash Soup with a Kick

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2012
Love this soup. We get the cubed squash from Costco and then use two packages to double the recipe. No need to roast that way and really saves time. I mostly use red pepper flakes instead of the jalapeno becuase that is what we have on hand. Usually I'll saute up bacon and then some onion and red pepper in a little bacon grease and add it to the blended soup but it is good as written too. I only blend about 1/2 the soup because we like it a little chunkier. A little glug of wine at the end never hurts too!

Kielbasa with Peppers and Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2012
We really like this recipe. It is so easy. Since the Kielbasa has a lot of grease I don't use oil. We usually substitue mushrooms for one of the peppers and add a little water so we have some sauce for it. We've also made it with spinach and aspargas too. Add a little cayanne, garlic salt and Montreal Chicken seasoning! Yummy

Carrots a la Orange

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
Too much butter. This was an interesting change to the brown sugared carrots and I liked the citrus flavor. Thanks for the recipe though.

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
Fantastic as written. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. It was really generous of you. We have this weekly with cucumbers, tomotoes and kalmata olives. Sometimes we add shredded or cubed chicken for a full meal. I recommend seeding the cucumbers and tomatoes so it doesn't water the dressing down.

Rhubarb Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
What a great recipe! Thanks so much for sharing. I went with the other reviewers and used 1/4 cup for both the sugar and brown sugar and it was perfect. Used sugar free jello. I checked two stores and couldn't find strawberry so used raspberry the first time and lemon the second and both were very good. Left out the marshmellows because we don't need the extra calories! I used a sugar free yellow cake the first time and a Betty Crocker Gluten Free yellow cake the second time. Also agree that 45 minutes is perfect for baking.

Lentil Soup with Lemon

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
This was an excellent soup. I made it exactly like the recipe and then had to go make another double batch because we all wanted seconds and there wasn't enough!

Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
excellent recipe, thanks. Made almost exactly per recipe but did double the spices (except for cinnamon) and added the juice of 2 lemons at the end. Next time will leave out the cinnamon entirely.

Black Bean Hummus

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
Thanks so much for this recipe! We've made it 3 times in the past two weeks. The only change was to drain and rinse the black beans and use chicken broth instead. I think the reviews said to use a 1/4 cup of broth but I messed up and only used 2 T and it was perfect so that is how we make it now. Very economical and easy!

Lori's Spicy Chipotle Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
this was not good. The spinach in it completely overpowered everything else. I had one piece and couldn't eat it anymore which is a shame because this is an expensive recipe. I made it exactly as stated in the recipe
