Wrapped Salmon

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
This went over very well! I used both salmon and tuna steak. I marinated the fish for several hours in soy, lime juice, garlic, worcestershire and rice vinegar. I cut the fish in strips about an inch or more thick. I put a strip of honey mustard on the fish (I thought it could use more but my guests thought it was perfect). I didn't find the phyllo dough as challenging as I thought it would be but. I cut the sheets in about a 5"x5" square so the fish was wrapped multiple times. For the tuna, I would recommend cooking at 400 - it was a little dry so cooking a little faster may have helped.

Rosemary Lemon Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
Tried this last weekend and it was very good. I used butter only, per the instructions, and really liked it that way. I did not mix the marinade in a food processor but just threw it in there. Instead of lemon zest, I cut up the rind and added. For the leftover marinade, I heated to a boil and poored over the cooked chicken. Next time I'll make more marinade to add to the finished product. Thanks for the recipe!

Easy Arugula Salad

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
This is very good and I will definitely make again. I love arugula and the combination of everything in this salad is perfect. I used toasted almond slivers instead of pine nuts (although I do LOVE pine nuts, just didn't have any). Parmasan I grated in shavings. Made a bit of extra dressing. Avocado really made it. Thanks!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I actually served it cold and it went over so well at a party recently! I missed the part about serving with bread so I used Club and Ritz crackers. Because of its success and the fact that it's very easy to make, I'm making it again for another party this coming weekend.

Shrimp Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
This was really good! Didn't have canned shrimp so I cut up and sauted some frozen shrimp I had. Loved the sour cream and will add this to other quiche recipes I have. Thanks!

Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
This was very good. I used just short of 2 cups of Half and Half and the texture was perfect. I also made crustless (I know, that takes all the fun out of it). :) I also added sauted mushrooms and onion and a little more than 1 cup of Swiss cheese. Will definitely keep this recipe. Thanks!

Linguine Pasta with Shrimp and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
Made this tonight. It seemed too simple to be so good! I followed the recipe pretty much but didn't cook the shrimp separate - I added it to the heated up sauce when the noodles were almost done. I also added a lot of parm cheese.

Alabama Fire Crackers

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2012
Very good. A nice addition with just about any kind of soup. I followed recipe except I didn't have powdered onion. I used minced dry instead and probably would use this replacement in the future as it added a nice oniony quality. Tx for recipe! :)

Japanese Onion Soup

Very good! I added thinly sliced mushrooms, scallions and French's dried onions to individual servings. If you like this kind of soup, this is your recipe. Thanks for sharing! :)

Jambalaya Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
This was VERY good and very easy. I used keilbasa instead of smoked sausage because I like it better. I cut it up and browned it a bit with a bit of veg oil prior to adding to casserole. I used dried "Sauce and Gravy" mix for the "Browning Sauce". I also cut up a lemon and placed them on the top of the casserole to bake. The recipe freezes great! I froze in portions and defrosted at 70% power and it was wonderful!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
This is very good. Didn't have any Colby cheese so I used some mexican cheese and cheddar. I used taco seasoning, a can of diced tomatoes and a small can of green chilis for the meat misture. As suggested by another user, I simmered the meat mixture for about 30 minutes. Sour cream is a definite needed addition upon serving. :) Thanks for the recipe! I'll definitely make it again.

Gazpacho Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
This was very good. I included a package of cheese tortellini, cilantro and grated parmesan. I replaced the tomato juice with spicy V8. It had a great flavor and was very pretty.

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2013
I added a cup of chicken broth and much more cilantro. I also used low salt taco seasoning but it actually needed more salt at the end. The trick to cooking with lemon/lime is to add it at the end. I know this but followed the recipe and it did make it a little bitter. I would definitely make this again with these changes.

African Curry

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2003
Very good. I did saute bell pepper with the onion. Also I used chicken bullion and about 1/3 c. water instead of salt (this also made it a little less coconut-y). I added some cayenne pepper to give it a little kick and served it over rice. Very tasty. Thanks!

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
This was very good and hit the spot. I was lazy and used canned tomatoes. I also added fresh basil and celery. I pureed about 3/4 of the mixture so there were some chunks in there.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
This was good but not the restaurant-style I was looking for. I was looking for something a little "meltier" - Just noted from reviews I shoul have used Alfredo sauce from the refridgerated section. That may have made the difference. Thanks for the recipe. :)

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

I was disappointed. It did taste like chili. It was good chili, but chili nontheless. I added cilantro which helped.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2012
I made recipe per the instructions and did not find it that spectacular. However, when I added a bit of seasoned salt and a tablespoon of cocoa it was very good. Thanks for sharing the recipe Deb! Sorry, I don't mean to be critical. :)
