Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
My son absolutely loved this recipe. I have made it twice. I always add my own little twist to it to make it my own, but the basic recipe is good all by itself.

Seafood Salad Supreme

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
I must say that I tried this recipe last night and it turned out great. I only strayed away from the recipe slightly. When I cooked my shrimp I added garlic to the butter first. I also seasoned my salad with allspice. I forgot to put the lemon juice in it, but it still turned out delicious. I am not big on measuring as I cook so I am not sure how much green onions, red bell peppers or celery made it in but it did turned out great. My son loved it and said it was really good so I know it was good because he is not a salad eater. ****Update****I took this salad with me on a bus trip and my husband who is very picky loved it. He tried to eat it all. This is definitely a keeper.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2005
I have never actually made a sweet potato pie by myself. I would always help my mother but I never actually made it myself. When my mother passed away last year, I decided I wanted to try to do it and this recipe reminded me of my time with her. My son took on my roll and I took on hers. The pies came out great. This recipe is definetely a keeper.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2005
Everyone loved this turkey. I followed the recipe exactly as written with the exception of using butter instead. My turkey was juicy and well seasoned. It smelled good but more importantly it tasted delicious.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2005
I just want to say that my son absolutely loved this pie. I made some minor changes per the other review. I used 1/2 granny smith and 1/2 red delicious apples. I only used 1/2 the amount of apples in my pie. I substituted some flavor for the water and reduced the amount of water used. I also used a little extra butter in the second pie that I made. I also used the cinnamon and nutmeg as on of the other reviewers suggested. The first pie I made got so many compliments and was gone so fast that I had to make my son another one because by the time everyone went home the first batch was gone. Thank you so much, this was the first apple pie I ever made and it was so good. I will be making this again.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
All I can say is awesome! My son absolutely loved this recipe. This dish was so easy to make. It took less than 20 minutes to prepare and turned out simply delicious. I used it on the chicken tenders cut and my son said it tasted better than the fried which is unusual for a 13 year old so you know this is definitely a keeper.

Penne with Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2005
I finally got a chance to try out this recipe and we absolutely loved it. My son actually asked for seconds. I too omitted the extra water from my recipe and it came out just fine. I cooked my broccoli in salted water and then removed it, cooked the pasta in the same water and then mixed the pasta, broccoli and cooked chicken together (I wanted to keep my broccoli firm). It came out great. I have enough left over for tonights dinner and maybe even for tomorrows lunch. I am already thinking about substituting shrimp for the chicken next time to mix it up. This is definitely a keeper.

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
All I can say is "excellent!" This soup recipe was awesome. I took some of the advice of the other reviewers and used spaghetti noodles broken into 3's because that is how the Spaghetti warehouse serves it. I also brought a pack of that precooked roasted chicken and cut the strips into cubes. The results were simply awesome. My son loved it so much that we ate it all in just two days. The next time I make it I will add a few more cups of broth, because it wasn't enough and I will make a bigger batch so it will last about 3 or 4 days. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for sharing that recipe.

Baked Salmon I

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2002
Let me first say that the salmon turned out terrific. The orange juice cut the fishy taste and really gave it a different flavor. The whole family absolutely loved the salmon and I will definetely cook it this way again. The only thing I will change is the rice. It is probably just a matter of what tastes you like, but it was voted down in my family 2 to 1. I got three different opinions from my family. My mother liked it, my son absolutely hated it, and I ate it; but it wasn't that great to me. I think the orange taste is what turned my son and I off from the rice. We are rice lovers (we could eat it everyday of the week), but I will definetely skip the rice in this recipe next time.
