In this chaotic world we live in, I find my peace at the beach, and in the kitchen.. There's something so calming about hearing the sound of the waves crashing, and the aroma of delicious food being cooked.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up with a busy family, Dinner always brought us together. My mom is an amazing cook, but she never measures anything. It is my goal to recreate her recipes, and put my own twist on things.

My specialty is Eggs Benedict.. It's all about timing and my special ingredient..

Fettuccini Alfredo I
delicious and easy to make with ingredients you already have in the fridge. a dash of nutmeg and some white pepper enhance it. deeeelicious!

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup
This recipe would have probably gotten 5 stars if I had followed the recipe exactly. I ended up having to make some substitutions because I used what I had in my kitchen without making a trip to the store. But what I made was sooooo delicious, I think I am going to make it the same every time!! I subbed fresh tomatoes for a 28 oz can of whole roasted tomatoes plus one 14 oz can of tomatoes. used one can of tomato sauce, and one can of chicken broth. added white pepper and hot red pepper flakes... oh, and I roasted a whole head of garlic in olive oil wrapped in foil for 45 minutes, and squeezed the whole thing in there.. and I mixed in about 1/4c of parmesan when adding the cream. Soooo good!!!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II
so heavenly!!! my boyfriend loves it.. he wouldnt stop raving about it while we were eating.. he even told me i was a keeper.. thank you chicken cordon blue!! I did use prosciutto and gruyere, and used an egg bath before dipping the chicken in a flour/panko seasoning mixture. for seasoning i used a little white pepper, salt, and rosemary to tie it in with the roasted veggies and red potatoes that i served alongside. and the sauce!!! oh my goodness, i will use this sauce recipe for other dishes as well. i also browned the chicken and then finished cooking it in the oven.. so delicious..
