Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
My friends can't get enough of these! I've made them three times in two weeks. I am getting tired of peeling eggs... I did add a few things - a little horseradish, some onion and garlic powder... paprika sprinkled on top... they were a hit.

Ham and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
This is good - modified a few items, though. Added bread crumbs and parmesan cheese on top, and scaled the recipe for eight; used four boneless, skinless chicken breasts (seasoned, baked, and cubed) and a pound of ham. This did feed a crowd.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
This is awesome. I followed some others' suggestions (half brown sugar, half white), and I also added chopped pecans. I put the batter into two large loaf pans (all I had), and after baking about an hour and ten minutes, this bread came out delicious.

Soft Molasses Cookies II

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
I do like these cookies very much, but I gave the recipe only three stars because they aren't chewy and they don't taste of molasses. They are more like snickerdoodles (I sprinkled granulated sugar on top of the cookies before and after baking and that improved them). The texture is very light and soft, which I do like, but it's not the molasses cookie heaviness I'm used to.

Chili I

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2006
This is a very good chili. I always add more garlic to everything because I like it, and I also left out the fresh chile peppers, but other than that I made it as-is and it's fantastic.

Roast Chicken with Rosemary

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
I agree, this is very good, and easy as well... I took a lot of the suggestions of the other cooks (rubbing garlic, butter, olive oil, and rosemary under the skin, for one), and we enjoyed it a lot.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2005
These are pretty good. My batter was actually a little too thin, as opposed to another reviewer's... I added a couple of tablespooons of flour and that fixed it. Fluffy and tasty.

Chewy Chocolate Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
I agree, these are great. I too used butter-flavor crisco, and also added some peanut butter chips. My brother says these are the best cookies I've ever made. I think he ate at least ten of them on the night I made 'em.

Smoky Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
I added significantly more liquid smoke and about four slices of cooked, crumbled bacon; with these additions I love it. My honey loves this as a spread on crackers. It's much better if you let it refrigerate overnight, so think about making it the day before you want to serve it.

Pumpkin Pie Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
Like other reviewers, I used half white and half brown sugar, and also didn't have pumpkin pie spice. Used 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 3/4 tsp ground ginger, 3/4 tsp allspice, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 1/8 tsp ground cloves instead. This came out deliciously moist. Not overly sweet, either. It's perfect warmed with butter for breakfast.

Banana Bread V

This is a wonderful banana bread recipe. Try substituting buttermilk for the milk; it comes out great!
