Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
I keep these in my freezer, thaw a few minutes and reheat at 350 for around 6-8 minutes. THEY ARE WONDERFUL. Tips: I use extra sharp cheddar hand grated, mix WELL with the bisquick in my Kitchenaid mixer, then add the cheese and mix it in. cook on a Pam-sprayed cake rack on a cookie sheet at 350 for 18 minutes. George Jones Hot Sausage is my favorite!

Marinated Black-Eyed Pea Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
AMAZING! This stuff is so good. i followed the recipe exactly, and it was eaten quickly. we keep it in our fridge to eat with chips and even in fajita tortillas for a light meal. let marinate at least overnight, it gets better and better the longer it sits.

Cocktail Meatballs III

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2006
I used Heinz Ketchup with Tabasco instead of regular ketchup, cooked them 18 minutes and made them for a crawfish boil. They were eaten so fast that i didn't even get to try one! Everyone raved and asked for the recipe. This is now on my list of great appetizers. they freeze really well!

Cheese Crisps

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
I thought this was an excellent base recipe. i gave it four of five as i intend to change it a bit next time. as is, it is a little too floury. next time i will cut back just a bit. hand-grated cheese is a must and i plan to double the cayenne. will definitely make again

Chicken Andouille Gumbo

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2004
excellent recipe. i made a few changes. substituted chicken broth for water, added 1 stick of unsalted butter to the roux, and cooked the roux for 30 minutes (can't imagine 6 being enough) added one chopped yellow onion and next time will substitute 1/2 the chicken for shrimp or crawfish tails. i also overdid the cayenne and garlic a bit. used frozen okra, so i sauteed it frozen for about 75% longer than suggested. AN EXCELLENT AND HEARTY MEAL

Taco Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2004
this was good for the first 10 minutes! after that the tortilla chips were soggy and i ended up throwing most of it away. i would suggest keeping the chips separate. probably wont make it again.

excellent recipe! i will definitely make this again. my only change was adding thin butter pats to the top before baking.. it is fattening already, so why not go all the way:)

i made a few changes and it was great! i fed 4 hungry teenagers and have a large bowl leftover. great cheap and quick dinner. i cut the broth in half and added a 1/3 more salsa. i also seasoned the chicken with taco seasoning and sauteed a small yellow onion with the chicken.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
the best i have ever had! my husband agreed and neither of us are green bean casserole fans. this is best served piping hot as the cheese is best when melted. the 1st time i made it, it had too much sour cream, the 2nd time i made it with 3/4 the sour cream, and it was perfect!
