Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
This is a 5 star pancake but the vinegar in this recipe is too much and can be tasted, 1 cup milk to 1 Tablespoon vinegar to make sour milk. However I also made them substituting the milk/vinegar with Buttermilk and WOW, they came out great and full of good flavor. Optional, 5ml vanilla adds a little more flavor but still great without. As others have mentioned it is important NOT to over mix, when mixing the dry with the wet ingredients stir only 3 or 4 times max, its ok if its not all mixed in, the flour balls will vanish when cooking, over mixing will make them go flat. Make sure your skillet does not get too hot when making a larger batch or they will start to go flat loosing their fluffiness.

Danish Pastry

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
This is a super recipe! I had a little over a cup of flour left over that was not needed, my dough was great and easy to work with. I also didn't have active dry yeast on hand, I only had instant yeast, so I used a little more then 3 1/2 teaspoons and they turned out perfect. Made some with Strawberry Preserve, and some with Confectioner's Custard and some with chocolate chips, then drizzled them all with confectioners' sugar and water. I will be making this recipe again and again...

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
This is a great tasting recipe, the spice is perfect too, however even after a few hours with the dough in the fridge and adding a little more flour they don't hold their shame well, they tend to spread out, so I had to keep my cookie shapes small.

Butter Icing for Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
Perfect icing for everything. I have used it on cookies as well as on cupcake and cakes, it tastes great and easy to decorate with. I made a change for the kiddies, I kept it on the heat for almost a minute longer while I stirred with a wooden spoon, the icing became quite firm. The kiddies moulded the icing with their hands and pressing it onto the cookies, the result was fabulous:)

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
This is a super cake that really comes out perfect and full of great flavor. My only suggestion is NOT to beat for 2 minutes as you could over beat and the cake will sink when baking...I have made it a few times and I mix only until all is blended then I stop, pour the mixture into the pans and pop them into the oven...they rise perfectly and fluffy. As for cupcakes they also come out great;)

Cut-Out Cookies in a Flower Pot

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
This is a great cookie, it does not even need icing as its perfect on its own and holds its shape well when baking. It is important to chill for a few hours. I used almond extract not vanilla and they came out perfect. I used Butter Icing For Cookies for the kids to decorate and the combination was a win:)

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
Very tasty! I was surprised as my son hates spinach in any form but really liked this quiche. I didnt have garlic feta or cheddar on hand so I used recotta and another firm white cheese, turned out great. I will be making this again and again, thank you Bailey.

Classic Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
They are great! Although I would double the filling next time and make them smaller as they really rose to become quite large and I found it difficult to finish one.

Lemon Icebox Pie III

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
Fantastic and so easy to make. Too sour for my taste but everyone loved it, except the kids! It's a great adult dessert, but not for most kids.

Fluffy White Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
Fantastic, sticky and fun! Too sweet for me but my kids loved it. I will be making this again but this time I will put a thinner layer on my cupcakes, and as I did before I will drizzle chocolate over the top. Thank you this is a super frosting.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
Great cookies but really too sweet for my taste, next time I will certainly cut down on the sugar. I divided my dough into 2 parts. I baked 1 right away the other I chiled for an hour, but the result was no difference between the the two batches.

French Crepes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
This is a great easy recipe! I was surprised that the batter was so thin but it makes wonderful tasty light crêpes. I followed the recipe exactly and everyone loved them, I spooned the batter thin into the crêpe pan and it cooked quite fast, half the time on the flipped side. I stacked them and covered with plate cover until served...they were amazing:) Thanks Cyberchef.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly except that I used almonds rather then walnuts and I did not use this frosting, I made my own and it is perfect every time. Frosting can be poured on while both are hot. 35g Butter 110g Dark chocolate (60% coco) 1 tablespoon Maple syrup 1 tablespoon Hot espresso Melt together as you would normally melt chocolate. I used a smaller baking dish so it higher and bakes for 55mins.
