Living in Switzerland inspires one to either bake or eat as we have so many wonderful bakeries filled with so many types of breads, cakes, desserts etc. I myself rather bake then eat, and never run out of new challenges.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, everything from crêpes to cakes and decretive tartlets. I enjoy trying new recipes out then adapting them to what I like.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas time is my favorite as there is an endless amount of wonderful traditional biscuits, cookies, cakes and desserts to be made, followed by traditional Glühwein...mmmmm

Fluffy Pancakes
This is a 5 star pancake but the vinegar in this recipe is too much and can be tasted, 1 cup milk to 1 Tablespoon vinegar to make sour milk. However I also made them substituting the milk/vinegar with Buttermilk and WOW, they came out great and full of good flavor. Optional, 5ml vanilla adds a little more flavor but still great without. As others have mentioned it is important NOT to over mix, when mixing the dry with the wet ingredients stir only 3 or 4 times max, its ok if its not all mixed in, the flour balls will vanish when cooking, over mixing will make them go flat. Make sure your skillet does not get too hot when making a larger batch or they will start to go flat loosing their fluffiness.

Danish Pastry
This is a super recipe! I had a little over a cup of flour left over that was not needed, my dough was great and easy to work with. I also didn't have active dry yeast on hand, I only had instant yeast, so I used a little more then 3 1/2 teaspoons and they turned out perfect. Made some with Strawberry Preserve, and some with Confectioner's Custard and some with chocolate chips, then drizzled them all with confectioners' sugar and water. I will be making this recipe again and again...

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men
This is a great tasting recipe, the spice is perfect too, however even after a few hours with the dough in the fridge and adding a little more flour they don't hold their shame well, they tend to spread out, so I had to keep my cookie shapes small.
