About this Cook
growing up there wasnt a cook in the house, and peimarily it was frozen tv dinners for a few years. there was a period when there was a cook in the house, but it was such a short time I didn't really catch on to anything. It wasnt until I got pregnant that I really got into cooking meals. not just dinner in a box meals, or hamburger helper, but home cooked meals from scratch. and so far the only thing I have managed to royally screw up is home made funnel cakes.
My favorite things to cook
meats. I love making dishes with meat. so far I have stuck to chicken and beef, but soon I will expand to pork too!
My favorite family cooking traditions
crock pot?
My cooking triumphs
first time I made chcken parmesan, I followed a recipe changed a little of this added a little of that, and viola, it was amazing. also, something I am very proud of is my cheapy chicken and veggie stoup! Im not sure if it is a soup or a stew, but it comes out amazing every time. I am quite proud of myself everytime I make a new ish and it comes out well. I even tried my hand at chocolate sugar cookies. they came out pretty good, but I am no baker.
My cooking tragedies
home made funnel cakes. after spending the time finding the perfect funnel cake batter recipe and making an extra trip to the grocery store to get everything I needed and made said perfect funnel cake batter. I tried frying it. I tried it in the deep fryer (fail) I tried frying it in the large wok we have, still fail. I tried using a form, that was an even bigger fail, and the point I burned the holy heck out of my finger is when I decided to give it up, and leave the funnel cakes to the pros.

Homemade Mac and Cheese
I increased the amount of noodles and used the cheeses that I had available, but it came out so creamy, I love a creamy mac and cheese. :) I did mess up on the bread crumb topping, so it was ugly, but very tasty!

Chocolate Press Cookies
while the cookies taste wonderful, and the recipe ends up yeilding a lot of cookies, I can only give 3 stars because I had to ad fluids to the recipe. while I was mixing it according to the directions, I noticed that the batter was quite thick and dry, too much so in fact. I simply added some extra milk and shortening until it was the right consistency. I will totally make these again
