Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2012
TRY THIS ONE OUT!!! So took a bunch of people's advice: separated the eggs and whipped up the whites really well....sifted the flour, baking powder (used 2 1/2 teas), sugar (used 4 T), salt (used 1/2 teas), and cinnamon (used 1 T) all together....for the milk I made 1 cup of buttermilk (1 T of lemon juice and then fill it up to the 1 cup mark with milk and let sit for about 10ish mins) and then added 1/2 cup regular milk and warmed on stove...put all liquids together and then added to dry, whipped them all up then added the whites and cooked in preheated waffle maker and OMG soooo good!!! we loved them!! we only got 3 waffles from this...we also use whole wheat flour though so it makes the batter a bit denser...some people suggested adding more milk to thin it out a bit which I will do next time...

Parmesan Chicken II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
Really tasty!! Took a bunch of posters comments and did the following: par boiled them for 20 minutes, waited til cool (just took like 5 minuthes), then put flour on them, egg wash, then cheese (which I mixed with a piece of blended toast for bread crumbs, a tsp of oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder) then baked at 400 for 20 minutes....they were not the most amazing thing I have ever tasted which is why I gave it a four..but they were moist and the flavorful...I would for sure recommend to try these!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2012
yuuuuuummmmm!!!!!!!!!!! Just made these and they are amazing! Took a few reviewers advice: added extra egg (sooo glad I did), added 1 1/2 teas vanilla, increased cinnamon to 2 teas, added in some dashes of ground cloves and nutmeg with other seasonings, followed rest as is. I let the batter stand for about 5 minutes before starting and let the griddle get really hot. Last time I made pumpkin cakes the batter was so thick so I was skeptically about a whole cup of pumpkin but I did it anyway and it was perfect....just dallop a bit on griddle and smooth out with spoon. Seriously soo perfect !!!

Yakisoba Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2012
this was alright the night i made it....somewhat bland i suppose....someone mentioned a yakisoba sauce that might elevate the flavor better....it was way better the next morning when i ate the left overs for breakfast lol....we added some broccoli and didnt measure out the soy sauce since some people said the 1/2c was too much i just added it here and there what ithought was needed....i used regular spaghetti noodles...it was really great next morning is all i really have to say

Cowboy Cookie Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2012
these are amazing!! we made a batch last night and they are already all gone...we made these as thank you gifts for the guests at our small wedding...we omitted the pecans and when packing made sure everything was pretty snug..we did it in the exact order as written....we mixed the baking soda, powder, and salt in with the flour then packed together....we did not taste them before we handed them out so we were crossing our fingers but they are soo good!! when you mix the wet and dry it seems as though there is not enough wet ingredients when you begin to make the balls but dont worry about it they are amazing as is!!

Oatmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2012
This was exactly what I was looking to make. I used whole milk instead of buttermilk and added a smidge more flour. Let the mixture stand for a bit maybe 10 minutes before baking to let oats soak up mixture then added chocolate chips right before I cooked them. They were perfect! Topped with a little peanut butter and syrup! Daughter ate it all up!

All-Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Amazing!!! I started around 9am...after cleaning, peeling, and cutting apples got then going in crock pot by 950...followed others suggestions and used 1/2c sugar and 3/4c brown sugar...used the ground cloves, cinnamon, and salt...added a bit more cinnamon and cloves. Let them go on high for about hour..then turned town to low..took lid off around 730pm and ran through my baby bullet because it was really lumpy...let go until about 830 then turned off...let cool then put in jars in fridge..just had a piece of toast and omg it tasted soo good...just like all the other apple butters I have had at restaurants etc. A bit thicker then I have seen but tastes soo yummy!

Real Welsh Rarebit

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
Pretty yummy! My mom has made this all the time and mine didn't come out as quite as hers does but it was yummy for the first time. It took me two times to make it because I used beer but it was a darker beer and it tasted way to beery. So I started over omitting the beer completely and replaced a dash of soy sauce instead of worcheister (sp) sauce. I think next time I will make sure to have the worscheister sauce and do it the same way without the beer since I have a daughter that I wanted to enjoy it as well. Give it a try and adjust to your needs!

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
This was pretty good...I added the black beans and corn that others had suggested and because those are staples in my household lately...yet I am only giving it four stars because I do not think I paired it right. I just made some rice...but as I was eating it I was thinking that it would be great inside tacos as the author stated in the intro. It would be sooo great in a taco with lettuce, sourcream, and some more salsa. Other than that the mixture itself was pretty great...would maybe add some diced tomatoes to it..or at the end top with more salsa to moisten it up.
