Old-Fashioned Vanilla Pudding

Awesome quick (well as quick as homemade pudding gets) recipe! All other recipes I've tried had things in a different order and I liked the convenience of this one. Easily doubles.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Chewy and thick and not at all cake-like...just like I wanted. I also have to say, these are the first brownies I've ever made that were thick, didn't have overly crispy edges, AND cut beautifully? I threw them in the freezer for about 5 minutes to cool properly so I could cut immediately, and they cut perfectly! I'm in heaven and will never make another recipe. I did add about 2/3 cup of chopped pecans as well.

Hot Fudge Sauce

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

This was okay, I guess, but the canned frosting is really bad...make your own chocolate sauce topping or forget this recipe. Also, note to self, cinnamon graham crackers-not good in this recipe...

Cucumber Gyro Sauce

Not bad. I subbed 1/2 c. yogurt for 1/2 c. of the sour cream, and added a Tbl. of sugar, as well as some feta cheese, crumbled. I shoulda thrown it all in the blender, b/c I like a thinner sauce. This recipe was simple, and it was okay, but I may still use another recipe if I have more time on my hands next time.

Traditional Gyro Meat

Pretty decent. Spices are a bit strong, but certainly still okay. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, and made a great substitute for eating out. Only slightly more involved than making a meatloaf, really. Also, I subbed dehydrated onion flakes and grilled the slices before serving.

Easy Baklava

I used all walnuts, minus a couple tablespoons of pecans (they were leftover, so I used 'em). This recipe turned out just as good as any Greek restaurant's does. If I ever decide to torture myself with the monotony of making baklava again, I will definately repeat this recipe!

Sweet Potato Bake

This recipe was great! If you like praline pecans and creamy sweet potatoes, you'll love this recipe! Very simple to prepare and a crowd pleaser to boot. I halved the recipe and made it in a square baking dish, used chopped pecans in place of the pecan halves, and it converted well. I would double the topping on it in the future, but that's personal preference.

Banana Upside-Down Cake

This recipe is awesome! My family rated it a 10 out of 5 stars, hehe. Quick to prepare, nice presentation, and a great alternative to those that find pineapple to be too caustic for their tastes. The only change I made was that I couldn't find banana cake mix, so I used a buttery yellow cake mix and added 1 tsp. of artificial banana flavoring. Next time I will increase the amount of brown sugar and nuts on the bottom, just because we really liked that part the best, but really this recipe is great as-is!

Orange Breakfast Rolls

This is one of my favorite recipes now! I substituted 1-1 lb. loaf of frozen-thawed bread dough instead of the 6 rolls, kept the rest of the recipe exactly the same and these turned out really good! They rose really high and were excellent in flavor! This is a super-easy very solid recipe...give it a try you won't be dissapointed!

Walnut Cinnamon Rolls

These just got hailed by my husband as the BEST cinnamon rolls he's ever had (and he's had them fresh from an Amish bakery so that's saying a LOT). It is my new favorite recipe as it's quicker than totally from scratch and tastier than the harder recipes as well. We substituted finely chopped pecans for walnuts and used half and half instead of cream, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Very easy and fun recipe-a must try!

Breakfast Pizza I

I made this with regular pizza dough and it was good, but kind of light on the egg and meat mixture. Next time I would double the topping part for one regular size pizza dough crust baked in a 9x13 pan. Overall, good solid recipe, just needs a little tweaking for our taste.

Fudge Bonbons

If you love super-chocolately rich recipes, this is the one for you! I used closer to a tablespoons worth of batter for each kiss and I ended up using approx. 40 kisses instead of 60. For a more appetizing look, I put holiday colored sugar sprinkles on the cookies when they were still warm, and pressed the sprinkles into the cookies a little to make them stay. Next time I might try using the Almond Kisses instead, to break up all that gooey chocolate a bit! If you don't like the cookies once the kisses have cooled and re-hardened, try microwaving each cookie for about 10-15 seconds to re-melt the insides. Great with a glass of milk!

Stained Glass Window Cookies

I went a little heavy on the sugar, a little light on the milk, had to add tons of flour while rolling them out, but I always have to do that with sugar cookies for some reason. They turned out great! I used cookie cutters to get my shapes in them, and Jolly Ranchers as the insides. I wish I would've made my "windows" larger, but the recipe is fine, and I will definately use it again!

Cranana Jam

This is the yummiest jam I've ever tasted! This was my first attempt at canning anything and it was so easy. I used a waterbath canner and processed the jars for 10 minutes in it. The amazing thing about this jam is that it really, really, really does taste like strawberry! This is perfect for my stepdaughter who is allergic to strawberry but loves the taste of strawberries! I would let it set for about 3 minutes before pouring into jars just because my first poured jar had the banana and jelly part seperate a bit, but all the rest were perfect, so I'm thinking the pectin just needs a moment to set before you begin pouring. If you mash your bananas up well, it mixes just fine, and comes out a lovely rosy red color perfect for the holidays! This is a great first recipe for someone who has never attempted a jam before.
