Super Easy Seared Ahi Tuna

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
The olive oil smoked up my house as well. The recipe is as easy and fast as they come, which rates well with me! It was really good too. I don't think it is too fishy of a flavor, so if you are not big on fish, this one might actually be good for you!

Black Bean Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
My family really liked this recipe! I made a regular hummus as well, and compared to this recipe, the other hummus seemed very bland. This one has a nice "kick" to it because of the cayenne pepper. (I added 1/4 tsp). Very good!

Hummus III

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
I thought that this hummus was alright. It is a good basic hummus, but I thought that it lacked in flavor a bit. I added a lot more garlic. I would make it again, but next time I would throw some more spices in there.

Jay's Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
I definately thought that the clove was out of place. I would not recommend adding it at all. I also agree with other reviewers that it was not spicy at all. I even have a weak mouth. But I guess nothing quite beats the jerk chicken that I had in Jamaica!!! The best thing about this chicken was that my husband made dinner tonight!

Licorice Caramels

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
I have never made candy or caramels, so I was nervous to make these, but they turned out so well!!! I can't believe how much they charge for each one of these in the stores when you can make a whole pan this easy!! I don't even like black licorice normally, but my mom made these first and made me try them. I was in love! The 1 tsp extract is mild enough that even if you don't prefer black licorice, you will probably like these. If you want the flavor stronger, add more extract. The last time that I made them, I made it with 1 Tbs, and I thought it was perfect! One of my co-workers husbands loves black licorice, so I made him some, and my co-worker said he liked them so much, he all but wanted to propose to me!!! LOL- he is old enough to be my dad. I have never met someone who has tried these that does not like these. Just watch the thermometer closely- it is critical you take it off the heat exactly when it says to. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT RECIPE!!!!!

Extra Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
This recipe is even easier than it sounds! I will be adding this recipe to my collection!! The reason that I only gave it 4 stars was that I like my hummus a little more flavorful, but was easy to alter. I added an extra clove of garlic, 3/4 tsp lemon juice, and then sprinkled paprika over the whole thing. I think the cumin was a little overpowering, so next time I will be adding a little less. I am so glad I stumbled upon this recipe though! Easy and good!!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
Another recipe to add to my collection of favorites! While eating it, I asked my husband, who refuses to eat leftovers, if he would eat these leftovers. He said, "there might not be any leftovers!" He loved it.. and took the leftovers to work for lunch! Yeah!

Decorator Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
This is the perfect frosting for sugar cookies! I also like to add a little more vanilla, also its fun to add a little marshmallow cream to taste.(too much can make it a little too sweet, but use your judgement.) People can really taste the difference when I add a little marshmallow cream. They say, "what did you do? This is AMAZING!!" It is just something worth trying to mix it up a bit. This is a great basic frosting recipe though.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
So, I have been using the Award-winning chocolate chip cookie recipe from this site as my main chocolate chip cookie recipe, but I decided that it was time to try something new, so I tried this recipe. IT WAS SO YUMMY!! I could totally tell the difference that this cookie had a little better taste that other cookies. I knew the moment that I tasted the dough. I think the extra vanilla is what really did it. Presentation wise- they didn't look as "pretty" as the award-winning-chocolate-chip-cookie recipe because these ones turned out a little flatter, but taste wise, I think they may be better! Beware though- I really don't think that they need to be baked that long. I checked at the minimum time, and they were overcooked. 10 min. did it for me, but by other reviews, the recommended time worked for them. I would just check them early to make sure your oven isn't like mine. Very good! Everyone needs to try this recipe!!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
Wow. This frosting is amazing! Very light and fluffy. I took the advice of another reviewer and made it to top the banana bars recipe that is on this website. It did take a while to beat the whipped cream to the right consistency, but well worth it! Everyone in the family loved it!

Really easy, and really good. Not the best slow cooker BBQ that I have had, but it is definately right up there. I love how easy and quick it is!

S'more Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
I know that some reviewers said that these brownies are too rich or too much, but if you have a sweet tooth as much as me, you will agree there is no such thing as too sweet. :) These brownies were really good! My entire family devoured these brownies in 5 min. flat. Thanks for a good recipe!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: May 29, 2008
These cookies were pretty good. I am a real Reeses fan, but between the peanut butter and the peanut butter chips, the taste was a little too peanut buttery. I would have like to taste the chocolate a bit more. Also, my cookies came out a little dry. It was probably something I did, but next time I think I would not leave them sitting on the sheet after they came out of the oven.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
These cookies were just OK for me, but I experiment with a different cookie recipe almost daily lately, so I am little critical with cookie recipes. (I am on a baking kick). So in comparison with the other recipes that I have been making, this recipe was somewhere in the middle. It didn't really "wow" me, but I have to say that if you are craving chocolate, this will definately take care of it. I recommend the minimum baking time. I left mine in a minute longer, and they were a little more crisp than I would have liked.

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
Maybe I did something wrong? I wouldn't make these again. Some reviewers said their fries burned, so I used parchment paper to avoid them sticking to the pan, and it worked, but they never got crispy. They were also too spicy for me, but I used the recipe for the taco seasoning on this site, and I think it would have worked better if I omitted the cayenne pepper from this recipe. I also have never had sweet potato fries, and in my opinion, the sweetness of the sweet potato fries clashes with the spices. I ended up throwing them away.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
Way better than the store bought kind! I took advise from one of the other reviewers and substituted cayenne pepper for the pepper flakes, and it was a little much for me. (I am weak when it comes to hot/ spicy food). Next time I will just make it with the pepper flakes.

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
This cookie is definaltely good! I was eating the dough as fast as I could get the things cooked! The description is good- they "melt in your mouth" more than other cookies. It is just a very smooth, soft cookie. I will make this one over and over again!
