Baked Ziti Supreme

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2012
I found a variation of this recipe, which is called, "Now and Later Baked Ziti," at the Campbell's Kitchen website, which easily earns a 5-star rating, and then some! Though I've never tried this AR version, I can tell by reading it that it would not be as good as the original. The biggest issue (and likely the reason why many here find it bland) would be the amount of pasta, there's way too much of it! As for the original: I've made it three times and find it quite a treat. Especially when served up with a caesar salad and homemade garlic toast. Can't go wrong with a meal like that! YUM!

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
These are great! I used honey in place of sugar and half spelt/half a/p flour. They do, however, get stale rather quickly, even in the refrigerator, so I'd recommend freezing any you won't be eating within the first day or two. Thanks for sharing. I will be making these frequently!

Pull-Apart Hot Cross Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2012
Oh. My. Gosh!!! First time ever making hot cross buns and I am not disappointed. They are SO delicious that I won't wait for Easter to roll around to make these again! I didn't have cardamom so I used a little nutmeg and cinnamon. Also used about 75% a/p flour and 25% spelt. Awesome, awesome, AWESOME!!

Baked Mac and Cheese for One

The taste was ok, but I'm still looking for a cheese sauce that doesn't congeal within minutes.

Grandma's Polish Perogies

These are so much better than their store-bought counterparts! The only thing I did different was using 2 cups of cheddar and none of that disgusting processed "stuff." Can't wait to try other fillings with it. FYI: for those who think these are bland, try frying them in olive oil or butter after boiling. Better yet, deep fry them.

Taco Seasoning I

I made this for nachos and it was fantastic! The only thing I changed was using cayenne pepper instead of red pepper flakes. No more prepackaged taco seasoning for me ;)

Cajun Style Baked Sweet Potato

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
I subbed red potatoes for sweet as I didn't have any. These were fantastic and I will definitely make again! Thanks so much for sharing. UPDATE: Made this recipe again but this time with sweet potatoes... even better!

I've made this twice to make Itailian Salad Croutons (from this site) and am very happy with the results. Amazing flavor and texture for so few ingredients!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
I made this for supper today and was very pleased with the results. I scaled the recipe back to 4 servings for 2 chicken breast halves, I then used the remaining sauce for dipping at the table. Will very likely make again but I will cut the baking time back to 30 minutes as the meat was quite dry despite following the recommendations of other reviewers and covering with foil for the first half-hour.

Buttery Spritz Cookies

I'm in love! These are the best butter cookies I've ever tasted and, unlike so many other so-called cookie press recipes, these are a breeze to press into the pan. Thanks so much for sharing.

Oat Waffles

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
I've made this recipe three times now and find them very tasty. The one and only problem I have with them is a minor one and that is that they have a somewhat dry texture. This is easily fixed through the use of a little extra syrup ;)

Premium Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
Excellent texture, bakes up crispy and holds up very well to being reheated in the microwave. I do agree with some other reviewers that it could use a bit more flavor, so next time I will add a pinch more salt and a little garlic powder. All things considered, an excellent recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Whoopie Pies I

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
These are out-of-this-world delicious! The cake itself was so moist and flavorful, it could easily be eaten on its own. No complaints about the filling here either. As always, I subbed butter for shortening for a healthier version. I halved the recipe (I usually do this when trying a new recipe) and placed the batter in a mini loaf pan to ensure equal sizing and got 8 little cakes from it. Only problem was that they rose so high, they needed to be split and the filling placed between the layers. I plan to invest in a whoopie pie pan as these will be made many times over in the future! Thanks so much for sharing.

Cajun Style Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
I have never like meatloaf before, actually I hated it, but given the reviews, I decided to give it a go. And I'm so glad that I did! I do tweak the recipe a bit according to taste and what we usually have in the house, such as leaving out the sausage and just using all ground beef, subbing yellow onion for green, 2% milk for evap. and cayenne pepper for hot pepper sauce. Good eatin' :)

Mediterranean Kale

I've been looking for more ways to cook kale and think I've come across a keeper ;) I used equal amounts kale and spinach and served it up with brown rice and chicken breast marinated in teriyaki sauce. Very nice. Thanks for sharing!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
I used this recipe to make my first pie -ever! - and was very pleased with the results. I didn't have enough shortening so I added butter to make it half a cup and threw the whole lot into the food processor. Wow, it doesn't get much simpler than this. Will make again and definitely recommend it to others.

Soft Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Alright, where's the option to give 10 stars?! These cookies are to die for - especially the next day! I made the first two dozen as per the recipe then proceeded to add walnuts to the next pan and chocolate chips to the last pan, they are all SO good! I always make my cookies on the small side, and so I got 55 cookies from this recipe.

Perfect Turkey

Since I only needed to make supper for two, I used a small chicken for this recipe. I subbed chicken broth for wine and left out the veggies as I was throwing them in another recipe. Chicken turned out amazingly moist and flavorful.
