About this Cook
I am a newlywed...for a little bit longer atleast, and neither my husband or I have much time for cooking. My mother is a fantastic cook, but somehow that didn't carry down to me. I really need recipes that are quick and easy but GOOD and not too fatning.
My favorite things to cook
Definetely pasta or more generally Italian food

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili
This was REALLY good. I took the advice of other readers and added basil, oregano, sugar, paprika and garlic powder to the recipe. I also used one can of stewed tomato's (and basil) and 1/2 cup tomato sauce (instead of 2 1/2 can sauce). I used about 10 oz of salsa (instead of 8) and used 4 tbls of taco seasoning mix (instead of chili seasoning, because I didn't have any). After the meat was browned I put it in the crockpot for 2 and 1/2 hours. Then I put the whole thing over pasta and sprinkled it with chedder cheese. Amazing!!!

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole
I had to double this recipe and add half a cup of milk to counteract the saltiness of the original recipe. After that it was good.

Fresh Tomato Sauce
I let this stay on the heat longer than 20 minutes and it thickened the sauce...so very good and lots of flavor
