Dumbin' It Down

I’m so freaking antsy.  The sun is shining, we’ve got blue skies, it’s in the upper 30’s (a virtual heat wave after our winter).  Surely the end must be near even if Mother Nature throws us a March snow storm or two. (I draw the line at 3 or any in April).  So my thoughts are scattered and I’m going to do some random questions.  So give me some information baby:

1.  If you can only choose one, are you having an appetizer or a dessert?

2.  Hamburger or hot dog? What are you putting on it?

3.  Do your buns have sesame seeds, are they plain (poor things) or do they have something else (do tell)?

4.  Beer drinkers:  Can or bottle?  (no “out of a glass" wussys allowed) :)

5.  You have the day off, it's 90 degrees, blue skies:  where are you and what are you eating?

6.  You have the day off (although you may wish you didn’t), it's 10 below and cloudy with snow in the forecast:  where are you and what are you eating?

7. Ice cream:  Sprinkles or Nuts?

8.  Tuna:  packed in water or oil?

9.  What’s the strangest thing you’ve eaten?  Was it good or scar you for life?

10.  What  one food from childhood do you miss the most?

11.  Popsicle or ice cream bar?

12.  Favorite cake?  And don’t forget the frosting!

13.  Enough cake.  You’re making a healthy meal, what are you serving?

14.  Enough Health.  French Fries or Onion Rings and are you dipping them?   If so, in what?

15.  What is that stuffed in your mushroom?

1. If you can only choose one, are you having an appetizer or a dessert? Dessert. I have a terrible sweet tooth. 2. Hamburger or hot dog? What are you putting on it? Burger. I’m putting on avocado, pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, lettuce, and tomato. 3. Do your buns have sesame seeds, are they plain (poor things) or do they have something else (do tell)? My bun is a homemade English muffin. YUM! 4. Beer drinkers: Can or bottle? (no “out of a glass" wussys allowed) :) BOTTLE! But I will admit draft is my favorite. 5. You have the day off, it's 90 degrees, blue skies: where are you and what are you eating? I’m at the shore soaking in the sun just out of the water and snacking on some ripe cherries (I’m assuming since its 90º it’s midsummer). 6. You have the day off (although you may wish you didn’t), it's 10 below and cloudy with snow in the forecast: where are you and what are you eating? Oh so it’s springtime in CT! Ha ha ha! I’m curled up with a good book with plenty of fire wood and snacking on dark chocolate dove pieces. 7. Ice cream: Sprinkles or Nuts? Chocolate sprinkles! 8. Tuna: packed in water or oil? In water. 9. What’s the strangest thing you’ve eaten? Was it good or scar you for life? I ate large fish eggs (the size of my pinky nails!) in Boston on top of sushi that turned out to be pretty good. I also ate camel in the Sahara that reminded me a lot of pulled beef. I’ve also eaten purple yam ice cream which turned out to be tasty. Finally I’ve eat octopus boiled in its own ink. You decide which is the weirdest out of that list… 10. What one food from childhood do you miss the most? Those push up pops and nutter butter sandwiches. 11. Popsicle or ice cream bar? Depends, I love ice cream filled popsicles. 12. Favorite cake? And don’t forget the frosting! Tough one. Not sure. I’m more of a pie person. I have to say icecream cake from Cold Stone. 13. Enough cake. You’re making a healthy meal, what are you serving? Amy’s sensational summer salad. My favorite salad I’ve ever had! 14. Enough Health. French Fries or Onion Rings and are you dipping them? If so, in what? Neither. I’m crazy but I don’t like fried food! 15. What is that stuffed in your mushroom? Shrimp!

Mar. 4, 2010 6:15 am
LOL Jena, there is a reason- when we moved to our farm years ago, I picked up soooo much glass around the yard. Many friends/family member came to give us a hand "fixing up the place" so to speak. They all got free beer. Bottles were piling up quickly. When I was bagging them up to recycle, I dropped a case of bottles. I vowed then that we would never have beer bottles on the yard again, nor take any camping. Seen a camp sight one year with broken glass and it made me mad that people would be that inconsiderate.

Thank you for the recipe. While it doesnt sound quite right, you've definitely pointed me in a direction. Its the sauce thats tricky, and I cant nail it. Now that I know it seems to be Korean in origin, Perhaps I'll have more luck researching this. Patrick.

About Me
I'm an ocean lover living in Iowa. Married to my lovey for 28 years, a mother of four (ages 27-19) and grandma to one gorgeous boy (4). Working as a paralegal in a busy law firm so Allrecipes is a great place to take a break.
My favorite things to cook
I love food! I think I'm best at baking but enjoy the challenge of putting a meal together every night, or at least trying to. My hubby is a meat and potatoes kind of guy but I love fish, chicken and pasta. Recently have begun baking bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas dinners at my parents and trying to take on some of those cooking duties and learn their recipes, especially my Dad's stuffing. I love making enormous platters of cookies and candies at Christmas time.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made a fudge that actually turned out perfect. Go figure! I put it on a Christmas tray and took to Christams Eve at my parents and my Dad kept saying that it had to be store bought! To this day when I show up with fudge everyone says "so you've been shopping again!" Also from scratch lasagna and spaghetti and other pasta sauces.
My cooking tragedies
Ha! If I can get through one week without a tragedy I'm calling it good. I'm a twister in the kitchen and by twister I mean toranado and by tornado I mean an F5 blow the doors off this place and by that I mean I make a mess.
