Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
These came out really well. After following the recipe, I added 2T of oil and 1t of vanilla. They have a different texture than regular cookie dough cookies, but it wasn't like cake either. Kind of in between. Good in a pinch if you are craving cookies and don't want to start from scratch.

Baked Spinach

Reviewed: May 1, 2006
Really good recipe. I took the advice of a prior poster who said to mix the milk, flour, and egg together and another who said to add onion and garlic. My only beef with the recipe.....1/4 t of salt. With the seasoned bread crumbs and cheddar cheese, that made it too salty. Next time, NO salt!! This made a great side for the Portobello Sandwiches Submitted by: Nicholle!!!

Baked Beans II

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
First, let me start by saying I'm not a baked beans fan. My mother makes them all the time and they are simply not good. I made these beans for Easter and this recipe made me a baked bean lover! The flavors blend so great together, and I was worried about the ketchup/mustard combo, but it really works. I made this exactly as the recipe is written and got lots of raves. They taste like you really put a lot of work into them and baked them all day. Thanks for the great recipe!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
Chantal~your recipe is the BOMB! Everyone thought I purchased it in a store. It was rich and creamy, and totally delicious! I used 2-3T of flour, as rec. by another poster, and 1T of sugar in the crust. The rest was per the recipe. It did crack, despite the water bath AND long cool time in the oven, but it was so wonderful NO ONE cared! Thanks for the killer cheescake!

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
This glaze REALLY made my Easter ham excellent! I got tons of compliments. I substituted 1/8 tsp of ground cloves (I didn't have whole ones) and 2T of brown sugar for the corn syrup. It was the best ham I have ever had, honestly! AND-its tastes even better cold!

Baked Salmon Fillets Dijon

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
My husband the salmon eater LOVED this recipe! I made it for Easter, in place of ham for him, and it was delicious. I altered nothing, and it was perfect! Thanks Christine!

The Best Veggie Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2006
This was a really great blend of flavors! I didn't have the sesame seeds, so I omitted them. I also used a soft roll, rather than an english muffin. To me, this is more of an open faced sandwich. Next time I'll make it differently to make it easier to eat as a sandwich!

French Toast I

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2006
This was the be all and end all of French Toast!! I changed NOTHING in this recipe and it came out awesome! I was even a bad girl and fried it up in butter, rather than my usual healthy cooking spray. My 3yr old said it was the best breakfast she's ever had. That's a rave! For me, this recipe was like my grandmother's french toast. Filling, tasty, and just perfect!

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
I really wanted to love this and give it 5 *, but I just can't! I used stale bread and less eggs AND less liquid ingredients, cooked it longer, and it was still soggy.

Asparagus Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
I made this and honestly, I thought it was just OK also. I felt like something was missing. I admit it tasted better the next day. I will try again, maybe I'll sautee the asparagus with onions or garlic next time. I also used ready to use bacon, only because I don't like hard crumbly bacon.

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
I have been looking for a recipe like this for awhile to use the salmon in a pouch. I just added a bit of olive oil to make sure they didn't turn out dry. And they weren't. My husband loved these! I did like a previous poster and put them into a muffin pan and baked them (350/40 min). Great texture and flavor, not difficult--just great!

Portobello Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
This recipe was fantastic! My only substitution was basil for the thyme and I melted fresh mozzarella on top. It was easy and my husband loved the caper mayo, what an awesome topper! I put the portobellos on Portugiese rolls, just to make it a little more exciting. Definately a weekly staple! Thanks Nicolle!

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2006
This is an awesome recipe! I made this over the holidays and got tons of compliments. I did what other reviewers said, bake 10 minutes per side and salt eggplant first. The rest was exactly the recipe, and I will make eggplant this way for the rest of my marriage!!
