Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
Made for Bunco party. Yummy. Everyone loved them. I made a couple of changes: Seeded the tomatoes, used fresh basil, used cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and used crescent rolls instead of biscuits. Made the filling a couple of days ahead. Molded the mini muffin pans with the crescent rolls, covered them with saran wrap and popped them into the frig. When ready to prepare, popped out the mini muffin pans and filled them with the bacon and tomato mixture. Yummy!!! Worth all the prep time.

Hearty Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
This was my first time making split pea soup. I'm not a big fan of peas, but my husband like this type of soup, so I thought I would try it since we had ham for Christmas dinner. I made this recipe, exactly as written, however, I added big chucks of "fatty" ham, which were left over from Christmas dinner. It was sooooooooooo good! Thanks for this great recipe.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
I followed this recipe as written, adding a pinch of rosemary and 1 package dry onion soup mix. At the end of cooking, I added about 1/3 cup wine. It was delicious!!! Great recipe.

Awesome Roast Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2006
I've used this recipe for more than a year now, and my husband suggested that I write this review. I read many of the previous reviews and came up with additional suggestions. I add potatoes, carrots and onions. To give this recipe more spice, I rinse off the roast and sprinkle McCormick's Montreal Steak Seasoning on all sides of the roast before putting it into the slow cooker. I mix together 1/2 of the can of mushroom soup, 1/2 of the dry onion soup mix and 1 cup water. I pour this mixture over everything and sprinkle the rest of the onion soup mix on top of the roast. I put several slices of the onion on top of the roast also. I have used this recipe many, many times and it comes out perfect every time! My husband loves it!!!
