Mom's Easy Roast

Reviewed: May 16, 2006
At the 6 hour point I did a taste test and noticed that it was a little bland. Since my carrots needed a little more time I added a second packet of onion soup mix and another 1/2 cup water which made this a 5 star recipie!!!

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: May 25, 2006
Frosting has a great taste to it. I added a few extra drops of vanilla extract and a little extra sugar(couple of tablespoons). I would make this again.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: May 25, 2006
This cake was ok. I took one of the other reviewer's suggestions and used 1/2 cup shorting and 1/2 cup butter. It had a slight cornbread taste to it but it was still good with frosting on it. Would make this again if I had a really bad sweet tooth and there was nothing else in the house. All the ingredients in this recipe are already in my cabinet so that was nice!

Scrambled Potatoes

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
I gave this recipe four stars only because my kids refused to eat it. It looked like one big pile of mush. Take the suggestion of others and drain the bacon grease. I think that had a lot to do with the look. I peeled and shredded fresh potatoes so it took a lot longer to cook. My very picky husband LOVED it. He is a big guy who normally goes back for seconds and thirds nonly had one plate. This really filled us up! We ate it about 9:00 and it was 5:00 before we ate again!! VERY FILLING!We will try with sausage next time. A keeper!!

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
This was some of the best chicken I have ever had. We use whole bone-less skinless chicken breast and left them in the marinade for 5 1/2 hours. Next time I will marinate overnight. Even my husband who hates everything ate 2 whole chicken breast!!! Can't what to make this into a chicken sandwich for lunch today!!!!

Broccoli Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
After a few modifications to this recipe it was excellent. I am giving it a four only because I changed some things. I left out the water chestnuts and the almonds. I used shredded cheddar cheese and cream of chicken soup. Great alternative if you hate mushrooms. In place of the almonds on top I took 18 round crackers, crumbled them and add them too hot melted butter in a fry pan to soften them up. Add those to the top of your casserole and it adds a nice buttery flavor and they crisp back up in the oven. (Great way to get rid of that half stale package of crackers thats sitting in your pantry!)This recipe defaults at 8 servings. I only made a 4 serving dish so be sure to double the crackers if you try this method.

A Plus Fair Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
This was a really disappointment. All of the batter came off in the oil. I tried some of the tips like making sure the dogs were dry first but it didn't help. My six yr old was really disappointed to get a plain hot dog rather than a corn dog. will not try this one again. I am giving it a one only because I cant choose zero!

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
I just made this for my son that has a sore throat and doesn't want to eat anything. He likes it but I think it's very bland. I added 2 extra tbsp of syrup and a second whole banana. I think it was all the ice. I only used the one cup but the smoothie had a watery taste to it. I will try this again but without ice and with frozen bananas as some have suggested. I give this a 3 because my son is drinking it and not complaining.

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
This was good. I followed recipe without any changes. Made the meatballs subs for me and the hubby and angel hair pasta with the meatballs for our small children. My 3 yr old begged for some of mine and loved it! Next time I will seriously cut back on the italian seasoning. Hubby said it was fine but it was way too much for me. Will make again but might play around with ingredients for the meatballs. Meatball subs were a nice change of pace and easy to alter to toddler friendly.

Campbell's Kitchen Broccoli and Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
This was horrible. I made it yesterday for Thanksgiving and doubled the recipe. There was way to much cheese and the broccoli was tough.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
TEN STARS!!!! Made this Thanksgiving weekend to feed a large group during football. Everyone raved about it. I doubled the recipe so there was quite a bit. The next day my neighbor was over looking for more and then the my bro-in-law was back for more even though I had sent a bowl home with him as well! The longer it sits the spicier it gets! Cheese on top makes it rock!!!!

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This chicken is great!!! My two picky kids asked for seconds and if we could have it again tomorrow! To make this cook faster I used boneless skinless chicken breast and cut them into strips. They cooked in 30 minutes, turning once. They were very tender. Will definitely be making again!

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
This was very good. I give it only four stars because I did add a bit more salt and a lot more sugar. I was looking for a very sweet taste. It pleased almost the whole family. My daughter doesn't like the look of it even though I think she did like the very small bite I got her to try, she is still refusing to eat it. Will be making again!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
Yummy!!! For some reason I always thought that wings would be hard to make. These were so easy and taste just like, if not better, then those in the restaurant! Realized at the last minute that I did not have any cayenne pepper so I did leave that out. Without it these still had that great buffalo flavor just not the 'kick' some may be looking for. Even my 6 yr old loved these and ate half a dozen. Will be making again for sure!!!

Did not care for this. Just tasted like baked chicken covered in brown sugar. Kids would not eat these either and opted to eat the buffalo wings I made for my husband.
