Bacon Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
I made this with a few exceptions (of course) I added frozen mixed vegetables (it was all I had) No onions (because of our cats) and I forgot to add the half-half. Still tasted awesome. If I added the half-half, it would have tasted just like corn chowder. Still either way, a definite keeper. Thank you for the recipe!

Danish Kringle

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
First of all I cut the recipe in half, and second I only kept it in the frig for abt 2 hours. OMG! the dough became so not manageable. I am lucky to have placed it on a marble board when it happened. I put it back in the frig for another hour. I was then able to scrape it up with a spatula. Lesson learned. It still came out wonderful! The glaze, in my opinion, makes or breaks it. Also, the next time I make it, I am going to place the marble board in the frig as well for a couple hours to chill. It saved my kringle this time! (Also, since I'm so impatient, I can roll out the dough in less time again :-) ) I was able to make 2 different kringles when I made only half the recipe. It is a lot of fun, take the chance and make some. I made cream cheese for the filling since my hubby is a diabetic, didnt want to shock him.....yet.

Schweine Ohren (Pig's Ears)

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
Well, I would have included a picture but they were gone faster than 1..2..3.. Love these. Fast easy, The only difference, I spread some melted butter before the sprinkle of some cinnamon & sugar. They were gone before the coffee in the cup. If you have a chance to make these, please do, you wont be disappointed. If you are worried about the amount of sugar, you really do not need to use alot, I barely used 1/4 cup and it was sufficient.

Ricotta Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
OK . I had to changed this quite a bit due to substituting the sugars for "sweetners". Keeping that in mind, I started with a 'scratch cake" (Allrecipes Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations) only used 1 cup of ricotta, 1 egg, tsp vanilla, and 1/4 tsp of Almond extract and a little bit of sweetner. I did little spoonfuls all around the cake. The cake was done in abt 1/2 hour. OMG! What a yummy cake. The ricotta didn't fall to the bottom (fyi) I think a 16oz container would be the perfect ratio for this type of cake. A definite keep..... Oh, cupcakes.... gonna try it with cupcakes! To be continued.... :-)

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
What can you say, except WOW! Just like everyone else I resurrected my bread machine after 10+ years of no use. Its great as is or as a starter base. I've added seasonings to make pizza crusts, fried dough, biscuits, etc... Just a great recipe all around. Trust me, ignore any negative input about it. You'll love your machine and create lovely food! Enjoy!

I have the same recipe, all the measurements are exactly half (not the vanilla still use 1tsp) and bake in an 8x8 pan. The cake is pretty good. Its from my childhood too, so it brings back great memories. Its moist & yummy, try it one day when your out of eggs and craving cake!

Swiss Steak Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2006
I remember this dish from my childhood. Mommy used cube steaks and would fry the onions in the same pan after the meat. I did it that way (of course) it came out pretty good. No frowns here.
