About this Cook
I'm and Egyptian egyptologist who fell in love with a Swede over the internet. And as an outcome after 3 years of fighting traditions and cultural differences we made it and got married. Ever since I have been living in Sweden and since there are no pyramids around here, I have no job and am home enjoying the second most important thing in my life.. COOKING!
My favorite things to cook
Anything that has chocolate in it.. I love cooking it. I'm a chocoholic. I admit that ;-) I love rich sauces and anything with a little mushroom to it. Italian and chinease food are my favourite to cook or eat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
It must be the penne pasta with the meat sauce and bashamel sauce. Or my grandma's famous Kebab Pot, which is a traditional meal during the big feast for muslims. it's a mixture of lamb meat cubes, heart, kidney and liver cooked in a rich brown sauce and onions.
My cooking triumphs
Swedish Meatballs! When I arrived in Sweden I was interduced to this traditional meal in IKEA (again a Swedish traditional place) and I loved the idea but thought it needed a twist. So we invited some friends over and.. WOW! They thought mine was better than the traditional one!
My cooking tragedies
Although I'm famous for my cooking. For some reason that I think is beyond human.. whenever I cook for my dad it ends up as a disaster.. to much salt, no salt at all.. too much sauce.. burned a few meals too. Someday I'll show him!
