I love food and feel at home in any kitchen! I am a busy graduate student and preschool teacher. Cooking is relaxing to me and it is the way I give of myself to others.
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new recipes and being adventurous with my food and ingredients. I don't have a favorite thing to cook but I do love cooking soups and pasta dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family isn't a "cooking" family. I think this is why I love it so much. I didn't grow up with cooking as a priority and always wished it was. I do remember wonderful Thanksgiving dinners with my family, however.
My cooking triumphs
I remember my first dinner party and how much work it was! I worked all day and all night to make everything perfect and it was a huge success! Now food is what my parties are famous for!
My cooking tragedies
One time I was brining chicken and I let it soak too long and it turned out really rubbery. I was hosting a dinner so it was pretty embarrasing.

Cilantro Chicken Salad
I have served this salad as my filling for lettuce wraps and tortilla wraps at parties and it is always a hit. I've given out this recipe many times!

Best Ever Split Pea
I also added 2 Tbsp Ham base. It tasted wonderful, as if I cooked a ham with the soup for hours!
