Cream of Cauliflower Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
Love this soup! I prefer to leave some chunks of cauliflower and I use a little more than 1/8 tsp of nutmeg. Serve with crusty roll.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
These were a hit a Christmas! Followed recipe exactly and turned out wonderful! I did use natural peanut butter so they were not overly sweet, which was a good thing! They will be on my Christmas baking list from now on!!!

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
I cut the salt back to 1/2 tsp salt and added 1 tbsp sugar. I wanted them to be a bit more fluffy, but they were pretty tasty so I will make them again.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
Nice moist cake. A bit too much molasses for my taste, will cut back next time. I used heaping measurements for spices as other reviewers suggested it needed more spice. I also decreased baking time, just over 35 mins. but I have a hot oven.

Pumpkin Maple Pie Supreme

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
Although this pie is delicious I don't think I'll make it again. You can't taste the maple syrup in it - so why waste maple syrup? It's too expensive!! I'll use a different recipe for pumpkin pie and just drizzle the maple syrup over the pie or put maple syrup in the whipping cream when serving to get the maple taste.

Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding II

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
Just like I had growing up! The rice will absorb all of the milk it just might take longer in different ovens. I left out the salt as my Mum never used it. Really nice treat, thanks for posting it!!! Also add some raisins (1/4 cup) and some freshly grated nutmeg with other ingredients.

Didn't have enough 1/2 & 1/2 so used some milk. Used cornstarch instead of flour. Also put in extra coconut. Made it with graham crumb base instead of pastry. Turned out really good!!!

Banana Peanut Butter Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
My husband made this a couple of days ago and it turned out really good. He's not an expert in the kitchen but he said it was an easy recipe. He used chocolate chips instead of walnuts.

Vintage Lemonade

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
I halved this lemonade recipe the other day to test it out... it was the best lemonade I've ever tasted so I'm making some more!!! Time consuming yes, but it is worth it!! The only thing I changed was a little less sugar because I like it a bit tart and I zested (long strands) the lemons to get the rind.

Italian Sausage Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
This is an awesome soup! I only made a couple of changes because I didn't have all of the ingredients on hand. I used spicy Italian sausage, canned tomatoes, frozen spinach and added a can of drained kidney beans. I didn't have any zucchini but it was still great. Served with garlic bread it was very filling.
