About this Cook
Cooking is certainly not a strong point and not a favorite way of spending my time when at home, but hey, there's a family to feed and i do like to eat. I can follow a recipe..for the most part. :) I want learn how else I can use up seasonings and foods in my pantry instead of having it sit there. I buy things for a recipe and then, either forget about the recipe or have too much left over and dont know how else to use them. I also want to use more veggies in my meals, and cook tasty, healthy recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Arroz con pollo, spaghetti, tostadas, fideo, baked chicken and potato salad.

Baked Dijon Salmon
This was so delicious and so easy. Hubby says it's the best fish he's had! So definitely keeping this one!

Hearty Hamburger Soup
Very simple but comforting meal. I didn't have barley, so did without. I added extra seasonings for flavor as recommended by other reviews. Before serving, I added steamed brown rice into each bowl. Tasted better the next day. Next time I will make corn bread to include with our meal.

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo
Yum! Just made chicken alfredo for the first time last night. I followed this recipe and the family thought it was very good! I will be making this again and will add broccolli and maybe use less tomato. The sauce was very smooth and the mushrooms give it a delicious flavor. (If you don't like the texture of mushrooms & tomato, maybe put in blender?). Next time, I will use a little less milk or add a bit more flour to thicken my sauce. It did seem to be missing just a bit of something, but it could be because I used italian dressing instead of a powder seasoning. Overall, we liked it, and to minimize the work, husband & daughter helped prep by shredding & cutting :)
