About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I've always loved to bake, even as a kid. Mostly it's too time consuming so I don't do it as often as I'd like.
My favorite family cooking traditions
1. My mom making her famous chili cups for birthday dinners and my dad serving us a 'cocktail', which was always a Shirley Temple. 2. Making a German Chocolate cake for my husbands birthday every year. I love watching it evolve year after year... one of these days I'll be surprised by the perfect cake.
My cooking triumphs
When my frosting finally turned out perfect on my husbands birthday cake. The wonderful chicken dish I made up which is stuffed with various fattening items that turned out great.
My cooking tragedies
I invited my grandmother over for a pot roast dinner, it was like eating a brick! I was mortified.

Autumn Muffins
I usually take these to school every time there's a shared snack. It's always a hit with the kids. Most of the time I use what ever fruit I have on hand, but apples are a must!

Asian Salmon
I thought this was great! I only gave it 4 stars though, because my husband did not care for it. I would make it again, for company. I served it w/quinoa instead of rice.

Easy Meatloaf
I loved this, my husband who can't stand dishes like meatloaf (hence why I never make it), and who made fun of me when he heard we were having it, actually went back for seconds! I will make this again. Maybe even my picky toddler will eat some.
