To rich with all the cream cheese. The texture was a little difficult to get use to. Will not make again.

Wild Grape Starter

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
Attempted this with horrible results. The day I added the wheat flour, my starter spilled all over the table. May try again some day.

I thought this recipe lacked flavor. Boy friend and parents liked the roast beef.

Apple Cake VII

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
Yummy. I used 9 apples. 2 of the apples I chopped up while I grated the rest. I did strain the grated apples to remove some of the excess moisture. I did cut the white sugar to 1/2 cup, added 1/2 t nutmeg, and made a carmel icing to put over the cake. The flavor was good.

Pumpkin-Apple Muffins with Streusel Topping

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2007
This is a very hardy muffin recipe. I changed a few things and left out the oil. Cut the sugar to 1 cup, used 1/2 cup pumpkin and 1/4 cup apple butter in place of oil, for the pumpkin pie spice I used cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg, and changed the flour to whole wheat.

This was so good. Even my very picky mother enjoyed this dish. I did double the sauce as others had done. Next time I will add some red pepper and edemame.

Buttermilk Pancakes I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2007
These pancakes are good but the recipe calls for to much sugar. Next time I will halve the sugar. I used a 50 percent all purpose flour to 50 percent buckwheat flour.

Dutch Apple Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
I just tried this recipe tonight. I had buttermilk and apples that needed to be used. The bread was very good. I added an extra 1/2 cup of apples and extra nuts. A nice crust formed on top of the bread and to my families suprise the topping mixture sank into the center. It made for a nice cinnamon sugar treat. Will make again.

Beetnik Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
I tried this recipe the other evening. I thought it was very good. To me it had a slight banana flavor to it even though there is no banana in it. It tasted even better the next day. I did frost it with a Lemon Cream Cheese frosting. I also used fresh pineapple because it was all I had. My mother did not care for it because it had beets into it and to her beets are not for dessert. LOL

Baked Tofu Bites

This is a wonderfull recipe to use tofu in. I did make a few changes as I did not have sesame seeds so I used sesame seed oil. I also left out the liquid smoke. This is a keeper.

This pie recipe was pretty good. I did decrease the amount of corn syrup to 1/2 cup and used Wilbur buds. The Wilbur Dark chocolate I chopped up. Would make again.
