Grilled Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2014
Awesome!! The key to the charcoal grill is not to have the coals too hot. About 2 min per side is plenty. These are great leftover too.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2014
Great pizza sauce. I didn't have marjoram, but it was still good. I doubled the recipe, but may not quite double the parmesan cheese next time, and will therefore decrease water a bit too. Can't go wrong with this recipe.

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2014
I made this following others suggestions of an extra T of cornstarch, and extra yolk, and a mix of cream and milk, and it was a runny mess. The flavor wasn't terrible, but it wasn't spectacular either. Will not make this again! I don't know why it didn't set up. It must need tons more cornstarch.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
Not too bad with some modifications. I didn't find this soup to be thick and creamy at all. I doubled recipe so maybe that had something to do with it. Anyway, I thickened it with some cornstarch and it was finally to me likeness. Also needs lots of salt and 1-2C sharp cheddar to give it some flavor, otherwise it's fairly bland. Use potato masher, don't blend!

Marinated Veggies

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2013
I would give this 20 stars if I could!! Seriously the BEST grilled veggies I've ever had. The mix of vegetables is so good together and the marinade is simple but tasty. Served with chicken kabobs and rice. Mmmmmm!

Kim's Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2013
For some reason I don't think my dough raised, or at least not much. They were extremely dense after baking. Too bad. Won't attempt to make again.

Mom's Baking Powder Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2012
Pretty good. The bigger the biscuit the better. The smaller ones were too hard and flat.

Easy French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2012
I've made a few other fancy french dip recipes over the years, but none beat this uber simple one! Love it. Added sauteed green peppers and onions to sandwiches. Yum.

Grandpa's Classic Coney Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2012
I was expecting more of a liquidy sauce...is that a coney dog or chili dog, i don't know. This isn't bad, but reminds me of sloppy joes. Oh well, at least I now know the meat-in-the-food-processor trick I'll use for several recipes in the future, like spaghetti sauce, sausage gravy, etc. I'll keep looking for the perfect sauce in the meantime.

Tastes so much better than a packet of seasoning. I always have a batch on hand.

Really good. Just eyeballed everything and added a little brown sugar. They were good leftover today too.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
These have an excellent flavor! I doubled the recipe, used only 1 C ketchup and 1/2 C Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce. I browned the meat with the onion and green pepper, then mixed everything else in and threw it in the crockpot on Low until we were ready to eat. Thanks for the recipe.

Not very good. The pasta/mexican combo didn't please us at all. Found the recipe to be fairly dry as well.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
This is a gret recipe I've made several times. Don't need to change a thing about it. I never have Sherry, so I leave it out or sub something that is recommended in it's place. Serve w/ mashed potaotes and corn (just like picture). Very very good and inexpensive.

Smoked Sausage with Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
If you like smoked sausage, this "sauce" had great flavor. Personally, I don't care for smoked sausage but thought that this would be good with some chicken or shrimp.
